After playing for many hours, I realized a few weird things I find myself doing while playing the game. One would be taking pictures of the nook miles + achievements before redeeming them, completing five doubled nook miles + achievements before redeeming, and quickly flicking the joystick in the opposite direction just before exiting/entering the loading areas. I sometimes even press the A button for no particular reason while walking around my island.

Share your weird habits when playing this game! I bet we're all weird in one way or another lol.

I make my character run around in a circle when I get frustrated by something in-game, like losing a fish or scaring a bug. No idea why, it's just my fingers' reaction to failure I guess?

I definitely do the whole space out thing - I'll walk into my house and be like wait, why did I come here? What of the 1,001 random tasks that I was doing was this associated with?? Also I organize my player inventory all the time and I am constantly trying to keep an empty inventory (well, not including the top row, which is where 10 tools/etc go). Not sure if that's weird or not, lol. I also have a mini game I like to play with myself where I try to get the free piece of furniture before I get five wasps. I... I have no life. lol.

Every time I mess up catching a fish, I hunt down Quillson to whack him with my net.

This isn't necessarily a weird habit but it definitely isn't good for my switch. I jam the joystick really hard when I want my character to go faster. Of course, it has no effect on the actual speed.

I find myself saying things like "f--- you" to my villagers all the time
😂 When a villager is at home and sits on a chair just as you walked in to give them a gift, forcing you to leave and go back in.

I'm paranoid about some things but not so many weird habits here actually. I guess I constantly like to keep my inventory a little too tidy.

I take too many screenshots (and none that are very good)... I need to purge a lot of them, but going through them is overwhelming.

I also hold my left joystick in the direction I'm swimming while diving... a little is normal for direction, but I press too hard and what really moves you is pressing A anyway. A habit I picked up in NL and still can't stop. I'm making an effort now though, last thing I want is to mess up the joycon.

I check my inventory five times in five minutes even if I haven't picked up anything. As if I expect something cool to have miraculously appeared in my pockets somehow.

When I visit someone's island to do a trade or, very recently, to play that Fair game where you run around the chairs, I get real nervous. And when that happens, I decide to start twirling my character around rapidly in a circle so I'm not just awkwardly standing there in virtual space (I also do a twirl while entering the airport, for absolutely no reason). During the Fair event, I started doing it while waiting for the other players, and all of the people who were already there with me joined in and we were all spinning like madmen for a few seconds. That was fun :')

hmm not sure if it's a weird one but each time i have over 60k bells in my wallet, i have to go deposit it in the abd immediately.
i guess it has to do with pocket space since i like to utilize all my slots lmao. so i always carry just a little under 60k in my wallet at all times bc of this. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just walk around my island aimlessly a lot. Usually when I'm trying to figure out what to do when I probably should be doing something else. I still carry all of my tools on me even though I rarely pull out the ladder/vaulting pole and I don't really catch anything after getting enough for models and the museum.
