Was your first campsite visitor a smug villager?

What personality type did you get as your first campsite villager?

Wasn't it some kind of a bug where even if you got a non-smug they had the dialogue of a smug while they were the camper (then later they took on their own personality)?
Mine was a smug though - Zell.
 
I got Shep as my first campsite visitor on my main island. I restarted 3 times on my cycling island and gotten smug villager each time (Kyle, Klaus and Olaf).
 
Mine was Eugene! I wonder if this has anything to do with airport color, etc. Maybe these random move ins really aren't so random at all! Reading the initial post about Truffles made me recall that my friend with a different airport color also got truffles as the first campsite visitor. Interesting!

I think your first 3 move-ins will also be lazy/peppy/normal, and your starting villagers are uchi/jock, so for campsite default I would expect cranky/smug/snooty
 
I ended up getting Kyle, who I hated. Sorry to all the Kyle fans! I was always going to hate anyone who wasn't Raymond.

Yup, weirdly enough I got a smug hamster. Was initially not a fan of Graham but he grew on me. Glasses on him look adorable and he is chill

THAT EXPLAINS WHY TRUFFLES WAS REFERRED TO AS A HIM. I was so confused and I took a screenshot of it, too!
 
I got Astrid (snooty) on my old island... but I'm fairly certain you're supposed to get a smug?
I restarted a few weeks ago and got Henry, who's a smug. I can't remember what I did exactly the first time, but I do remember time travelling forward for the lazy, peppy and normal villagers to move in due to being impatient lol. I think I probably time travelled up until I got the campsite built, then time travelled back to my current day and I feel like that may have been why I didn't get a smug? Time travelling backwards sort of breaks the game sometimes and it gets confused...
On my new island I decided not to do that and just kept time travelling forward and got a smug like you're supposed to. Not sure about the other people who got another personality other than smug but that's what I assume happened to me.

I’m not sure if I time traveled until I had to later on in the game. That is an interesting theory, though!

Anyway, here is the screenshot I was talking about. Here, Tom Nook is referring to Truffles (who was previously pictured with the smug dialogue).

I’m guessing the game is coded to have a high chance of your first villager being a Smug but it’s not 100%.

Kinda like how if your island is missing a personality type after your first camper and someone visits your campsite they have a 60% chance of being the personality type you are missing.

Mine was a Smug. Lopez the deer.
