I'm not a fan of NH's soundtrack.

Some of it is so loud and distracting, that it is ruining gameplay when trying to fish, for example.

You need silence or something softer when fishing.

It's one reason I quit fishing completely.

I also don't play the game at 2pm for the sake of my switch's safety, should I hurl it at a wall or something.

That music makes me soooo irritated. >..<

I'd prefer NL's soundtrack, or WW's, or an option to turn background music down, or off, because background music belongs in the background and should dominate the gameplay or be so obnoxiously loud.

--> Some of it is so loud and distracting that it is ruining gameplay when trying to fish, for example.--> Completely agree with this statement !

I definitely also miss some more softer soundtracks, i really do think at times its just to aggressive and loud it kinda gives me a soft headache if i play for long (specially at night, really dont like the soundtrack at night ! )

I had should instead of shouldn't dominate.

I just edited it. :)

Yes, tis extremely loud.

It's a game, not a Black Sabbath concert. (Though they rock) :)

I liked New Leaf’s music better than New Horizons. Even that creepy 1:00 AM music made better sense than the 1:00 AM music you hear in New Horizons.

The only music in ACNH that is better than New Leaf’s is the daytime music from the Mystery Islands.

The biggest letdown is 3:00 AM. In New Leaf, it was the best soundtrack. But in New Horizons, the music is an abomination.

The 3:00 AM is that weird constant like kinda " cauk cuak cuak..." hahaha its really bad i have to agree 😂 i have heard it but ny those lights i cant sleep, thank god i sleep well on regular basis so i dont hear it hahah

I honestly like both soundtracks. But if I had too look at it objectively, New Leaf's soundtrack is more relaxing. New Horizons soundtrack is a party at every hour, but there's nothing wrong with that. 😄

i like acnh's music, but it's not really relaxing in the way that acnl's music was. accf also had really lovely music as well, which i consider more relaxing than acnh's but less than acnl's.

it kind of made me sad that they went with a different leitmotif for acnh's music, when acnl and accf had the same one (i think. im not a musically knowledgable person but i did take a high school class on it before), so it does stand out like a sore thumb when comparing this game's music to previous ones. it's not to say that the fact that i don't think it's relaxing makes the music bad; it matches the game's general vibe and stuff. but if i were to have heard this music elsewhere, i would not think it was animal crossing music. it sounds a bit too modern-ish (kind of like pop in a way, very high energy) and has less of the quirky/funky-ness of previous games in this franchise.

Agreed, ah man i miss having some lazy, slow active, passive and more natural oriented background music

For relaxing I actually prefer WW/CF's soundtrack to either - probably due to nostalgia - but NL sounded a bit melancholy at night imo, even a bit creepy sometimes (7 p.m., 4 a.m., 5 a.m.). And piano just isn't my favorite instrument. All the games have their good tracks though. I've even started to listen to the GC soundtrack some when I'm doing schoolwork, think some of those are pretty neat too. As for NH, other than 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. I don't mind the music.

personally, wild world’s soundtrack is my #1 favourite but between these two, i gotta go with new leaf. both soundtracks are great imo but i definitely like new leaf’s more; especially the nighttime tracks! those were so calming to me c’:

I didn't play Wild World so i cant speak for that but for the rest that you said I absolutely concur to a 100 % with all you said 🤩

I agree with those who like Wild World/City Folk the best. I'm not sure why but it's definitely my favourite. Possibly cause I grew up playing those games but who knows. I also got extremely burnt out on New Leaf so I think the music started to annoy me a bit, though I still consider it to be good.

Totally explains why the only New Horizons song I like is the 6pm song. As it's a neat slowed down remixed throwback of I believe the 6pm song from WW/CF. Otherwise I find most New Horizons music meh.

NH is off/on with me for super relaxing/calming vibes. Some tracks 5am, 12pm, 5pm, 6pm are really calm and/or pleasant to listen to. Others like 11am or 2pm fade to me. I've never gotten distracted or overly annoyed by any of the hourly music, I guess I've just gotten accustomed to being able to tune it out or put it on the backburner if I don't necessarily enjoy it.

New Leaf music is very relaxing to me. Brings to mind memories of aimlessly walking through my town 7 years ago. New Horizons music has a few nice tracks but they don't give that same feeling.

That's interesting because the volume of the music turns down by a LOT if you even get close to a body of water. It's so soft I'm personally a little annoyed that I can barely hear it 😂

I put TEN radio's around the forest on full volume, and couldn't hear K.K. Dirge over the horrid 2pm dirge.

I assume the radios will equally turn down in volume though? But I haven't checked that.

I miss New Leaf's hourly music. It felt really relaxing and beautiful. New Horizon's feels like the same thing over and over again, just remixes of the main theme song which a few exceptions. I don't hate it but I don't love it either.
