I feel like most of my dreamies have a lot to do with nostalgia—Wolfgang and Lobo, for instance, have been longtime favourites, and Rudy carries over from New Leaf. But I've been also having a lot of fun discovering ~unexpected villagers who I've randomly come upon!
Dotty is my current resident peppy and she might just be my all-time favorite on the island. She's excitable but not annoying, and she always gives me gifts and wears what I give her.
I just recently invited Tasha from the campsite. I was preparing to island hop for a snooty, but I had never seen her before! Her design looks cute and boy does she already have a fun attitude lol
for me it was axel, he was one of the first villagers on my new leaf island and i didn't really think much of him until i found out he was moving and i got so upset, i didn't even realise i liked him lol
he's not my fave anymore but i still really like him ^-^
Fang for sure. I picked him up expecting him to just be a temp villager in my initial 10 so I didn't end up with one I really disliked, but he ended up being one of my favorites and is a permanent villager of Violet now
Raddle tbh. I was never really a fan of the frog villagers, but I came across him on a mystery island quite early on in the game and had to take him because he looked so cute in a doctor's coat and face mask! He's a great lazy villager

Sally, she was a random move in. Her design is so plain, I would never have noticed her looking at the list of normal villagers. But she's so chill looking in game
Rex as well, he's a bit goofy looking but his design/home suits the lazy villager bug dialogue lol
I find myself talking to Teddy a lot, even though he was more of a "filler" villager for my jock personality (the personality type I despise the most) But he's honestly so adorable and I even made his yard into a workout area. I get so happy when I see him working out in front of his house lol
Also, big props to you cause Dotty is my favorite peppy. Her color scheme isn't overwhelming and she's the only rabbit I really like. I actually find it cute that her eyes glow red too xD
For me, it's Elise. I wasn't a huge fan of her back in New Leaf, mostly because I thought her design looks dumb and in general, I didn't really like the monkey villagers (still don't like them that much tbh). I gave her chance however in New Horizons, as I wanted to have some new faces on my island and I must say, her design is actually kinda cute. So far, she's the only monkey villager I really liked.
nlg its coco and ruby ruby never got tired of talking and was rlly cute her home was also pretty cute. Also i was scared of coco a few years ago but shes also rlly cute and unique uwu
Honestly it's Zucker, I got him on a mystery island I was originally going to sell him. I talked to him a few times and I just couldn't let him go he's so cute and precious. I really love his little stick coming out of his head. V good boi.
Tammi the peppy monkey/lemur. Her eyes may creep some people out at first, and there was one point where I was even hoping she would move out, but over time I've really taken a liking to her and now she's one of my favorite villagers.
For me it was Flora. I didn’t really care for her that much during the NL, days, but I surprised she was my starting peppy, she ended up growing on me a lot and somewhat became my new favorite.
zucker. i never cared for him in new leaf and only invited him for profit purposes but now he’s my absolute favourite and a permanent resident on my island uwu
Probably Peanut, I always thought she was cute and I remember liking her in past games.
I remember that I didn't really like peppy villagers in new leaf, but I love Peanut on my island.
I still have two of my favorites from new leaf, but Peanut has definitely become one of my favorites.
...marshal. always found him overrated, so i wasn’t thrilled to have him as my first camper (just glad it wasn’t business cat). but he has a great house and sense of style, and his dialogue is so sweet. just got his pic yesterday!
