Villagers Visting Your House Wihtout Notification

Has this ever happened to you? It's happened to me in multiple previous towns I had, but I have had this particular town since mid-July. If you look at my signature, you know the name of the town and the residents (except for Annalise, she moved out just a couple days ago).

Anyway, it happened just a little but ago with...a villager. And it happens when I'm not expecting it, either. First, I go in my house to put some things away. Then I go to T&T Mart, then I place the furniture (without expecting a villager to come in). While I was placing said furniture, I heard knocking. Knocking. Then they just pop right in. And I can just TELL you that I SWEAR I didn't set a time for them to come visit. I actually dug up a time capsule for them.

Now, here's the juicy part. This particular villager was buried into the safety of their home. I thought villagers had to be outside for them to do this. So, clearly, this villager was looking out the window and spying on me waiting for me to enter my home.

I know I worded this very weird, but I'm in that kinda mood.
How do you feel about this NewLeaf-exclusive feature? Me? Well, let's just say I have a love-hate relationship with it! They do it when you are moving furniture and when you are unaware, but on the flipside, I heard that you have to have a high friendship.

i find it rather annoying..usually i'm not in the main room so they won't know that im home so im able to hide from them, but i kind of find it annoying when they do this

I do the same, I usually hide in my side rooms so they don't know I'm home

Yes, villagers will do that when you get a high enough friendship level with them. They're only there for around 30 seconds usually and they'll even give you a gift if you talk to them so I'm not sure why you would ignore them.

I haven't had it happen yet. My 2nd copy with a town on it previously owned by a little girl- Bruce would come in constantly when I was trying to raid the house to empty it and restart the town. She didn't have the beautiful town ordinance on so he would see roaches and freak out and leave. It was hilarious. I guess I'm not good enough friends with any of my animals yet. He seemed to be her favorite. When I cycled the villagers out, he left her his photo. So yeah I'm thinking your friendship level has to be high enough?

Yes, villagers will do that when you get a high enough friendship level with them. They're only there for around 30 seconds usually and they'll even give you a gift if you talk to them so I'm not sure why you would ignore them.

I have a love-hate feeling towards this feature as well. I love it when my baby Celia pops by, it always brightens my day. But sometimes villagers visit in very inconvenient moments. Like when I'm in the middle of rearranging furniture, or when I'm dropping a million baskets of fruit on the floor temporarily as I organize my pockets...Why are there no door locks in AC? >_>

I think it's a cute feature. I have this happen a lot in my main town since I have high friendship with almost all of my villagers. They're cute to bring by a gift as well so be sure to chat with them. Sometimes, it'll be a little inconvenient when you're decorating but it's not like they'll stay there for long. I usually take advantage and take silly screenshots with them. <3

This happened to me often. I mean we do the same right haha, we drop by randomly. But it's so annoying for me because I'm in the middle of renovating and they come by. If I'm in another room (other than the main one), I stall there until they leave.

I'm almost never in my house, but yeah it still happens. I don't mind!

I talk to them a few times in quick succession to seem like a good host and then leave my house and go right back to rearranging furniture lol

I don't mind it too much, since they're only there for a short visit when they do that, but it's still kind of annoying when you're trying to redecorate and then you have to drop everything for a minute while you entertain a villager. It's a good thing I don't redecorate that much.

My theory is that once they start doing this your friendship level is high enough for them to give you their picture when they leave (or very soon in the game if you don't let them leave). At least for me it's always worked that way and I have got pictures from about 50 current and former villagers so far in my main town... so yes, I like it

happens many times for me since i decorate a lot, sometimes makes me jump but it's annoying and sometimes they never leave, i remember leaving lily in the house for about 10 minutes to get some things done and when i came back she was still there. so i just left...

Yeah, that happens to me quite a bit. Kid Cat seems to do it to me the most for some reason. It's so annoying when you're trying to redecorate and then some villager barges in lol.

I have Rolf, Bob, Mira, Caroline, and Aurora visiting my house, yet I only have three pictures of Rolf, one of Bob, one of Mira, one of Caroline and none of Aurora. All of these villagers have been in my town for at least a year and the pictures that I did get are all from months ago. I've been waiting for a new picture for ages.

I love it when I happens.... Usually. It means they consider me a really good friend. Rod and Kody have done random drop ins recently which means I might get their picture soon..... Well hopefully before Christmas

I hate it when I'm in the middle of redecorating my house and then one of them happens to walk in my house. So now I open the town's gate on nearby play to keep them out.

I love it! I think it's super cute that villagers will stop by unannounced once they like you enough. They never stay very long so it doesn't bother me if I was decorating because I can start right back up again after they leave.
