Villagers showing up in your house unannounced

I love Poppy to death but she drives me crazy. I am always in the middle of something when she usually knocks (at one time, I got startled, I literally jumped from my chair)...but she keeps visiting me unannounced !

Does that mean our friendship is strong or is she really that nosy?

From what i've read about villager relationships, when you have a high or good enough relationship with them they might show up in your house unannounced randomly

I feel on this so much. I love some of my villagers a ton but when they decide to show up while I’m decorating it drives me nuts.

Yeah, I think they require a fairly high friendship level to visit uninvited. I think it's a fine idea, but it's poorly implemented in that it completely takes control away from the player. I think a better system would be something like a door buzzer, which animals would occasionally ring. When they do, you would be able to choose whether to unlock your door or not.

At least they aren't able to enter when you aren't in your main room. It's still annoying though, since the main room is likely going to be the room you most often use.

Do your town villagers sometimes show up while you are in your closet/storage? I can't remember.
What I do remember is that one time I was upstairs when somebody knocked on the door.

OMG YES it's so frustrating because they always do it when I'm moving furniture, once I made a bulletin about it for my own amusement and to let out some frustration, if only the villagers could actually read it lol, and I have quite a few villagers who do that lol

I don't think they can show up while you are in your closet or storage, but I have had them show up the second I close them. It is a bit annoying when you're trying to decorate, but they don't usually stay too long so I just deal with it. I wouldn't mind so much if you could still move stuff or pick items up while they're there. There have been times that I've had junk lying right in front of the door so the villager couldn't even come all the way inside and I couldn't do anything to get it out of the way to talk to them.

Wow, that sounds especially painful. You can't even exit to get them out quicker. I'll have to remember to always keep the front door unobstructed.

Yeah, sometimes I'll do that just to check what an item looks like. I walk into my house and toss it down in front of the door with the intention of picking it right back up again. But then a villager walks in and I've essentially blocked myself off from them. I've learned to put the furniture down somewhere else now.

Fauna always does this to me and its so annoying. I'm always in the middle of decorating or moving around furniture and she decides that's the best time to turn up!

If it?s a villager I like I actually kind of like it, it feels really sweet and real world-y in a way, like a favourite neighbour popping round for a chat. Though if it?s one I dislike, I can?t kick them out fast enough xD

My villagers occasionally show up at my house without planning beforehand, but I like it when they do it. It's just really thoughtful of them to think about me and come for a surprise visit! I like visiting my villagers' houses randomly too.

They do come over unannounced a lot, which I don't really mind tho. Sure, I'm usually in the middle of decorating or doing something (I don't just randomly sit in my house doing nothing), but they never stay long at all, so I don't see why it would be a bother. And they usually bring a gift

Sterling does this to me all the time, which makes sense cause he and Kasumi have a high friendship. There are some other animals that would do this to me, like Fauna, Flurry and I think Whitney back when she lived in town, but Sterling did it most often.

Yes, Penelope always does this. One time, I put my sofa right in front of the entrance, so she couldn't come in and I couldn't move the sofa. I was laughing so hard at that tbh.

Yeah I get kind of annoyed when villagers constantly show up announced. It's usually when I'm trying to move furniture or organize my dressers. I love my villagers and I'm glad when my friendship level moves up with them, but...a mayor needs her space

Hahaha yes they do visit suddenly always when I'm in rush for sorting stuff for the trade - when someone is waiting on me, like as though they were waiting for the very right moment. But when I talk to them like I do to human visitors, they usually leave amazingly quickly.
