Update impressions!

I really like it so far!! Although, I definitely think this update was kinda hyped out of proportions .-.
I think the best thing is to take it easy, I like going treasure hunting for pearls, even when I don't plan on making many of the DIYs.

almost feels like we're playing different games since, in terms of furniture, i feel like there's a lack of "cute/pastel" items.
all that comes to mind for me is the appropriately named "cute" series and even that comes in dark blue and red. hardly pastel by any means.
then again, it's a largely ugly set imo anyway.

I caught 23 creatures, and had a lot of fun diving. Though the swimming is SUPER slow, and turning underwater is surprisingly cumbersome.

I do appreciate that the creatures don't disappear or escape beyond the boundaries any more. It makes diving a lot less stressful. Most creatures also seem slower and more catchable, with the exception of the giant isopod.

I was really happy to see that Pascal is still his same deep stoner self, and I got the mermaid table recipe, which I was very happy about. It looks even better than in NL!

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is pirate Gulliver, which will undoubtedly make normal Gulliver and Redd even more rare. They need to stop adding visitors, or let two come on one day or something. Well, at least the pirate furniture will look good on my hidden beach smuggler's cove...

Did they fix the camera glitch? The swimming is fine but I just went to capture video. If you took a picture quickly after opening the camera app and then hit ‘A’ quickly after, the interface would disappear but the camera still functioned as normal. This allowed you to take a clean video. Can’t get it to work now!

I'm happy with it. The museum is one of my favourite things in animal crossing and having more to donate is great for me! Plus I like the wet suits ^_^

I tried donating to the museum. I had 8 different sea creatures on me. He said I didn’t have anything that I could donate? Were you able to donate?

Yes. You have to choose the option of "I caught a sea creature" and have blathers explain it to you first (the option will be in blue). Then you can donate after

I updated before I loaded the game. I just decided to time travel a day forward to see if something changed. That seemed to work though I’m not sure if was actually the act of moving forward one day or closing and restarting the game. Either way, I see it now! Thanks!

Diving is pretty fun, even if I get hyperthermia afterwards.

I kinda wish there were more wetsuits and swiming gear style options tho; and maybe some new items unrealted to the mermaid set to find in the ocean, would love if you could find like old school diving helmets (BioShock's Big Daddy), rusty anchors, pirate ship wheels etc.

Pascal's little eating animation is adorbs, and his philosophical jokes are great; easily my new favourite NPC animal.
Yet to meet Pirate Gulliver, but I can't wait to start making a pirate cove.

Also the new Bamboo Grass in the seasonal shop is by far the best addition this update, it looks so good in my zen garden.

I love it so far. I like that the creatures don't disappear or swim out of reach over the barrier like they did in NL, Pascal is great and I'm happy to have the mermaid furniture back. Judging by the picture the bamboo grass looks really nice too! Looking forward to putting it out in my bamboo area tomorrow.

I am enjoying it so far. Then again I am playing this game at a snails pace so their is still so much for me to do and collect. Looking forward to the August update though.

I’m finding the swimming/diving feature super relaxing! I’m not a big fan of fishing in the game so it’s a welcome change from that. It’s also great to see my island from the ocean.
Pascal is a super cute NPC and I’m loving the mermaid set so far (although, it’s definitely not to everyone’s taste.)

I wish there was more to the update (*cough dream suite cough*) since I have a feeling I will catch all the sea creatures available rn by tomorrow and then I will have nothing to do for the rest of the month. Also even though you can only get 1 DIY from pascal per day it doesn't take that long to find a clam or a pearl so there isn't much to do really.

I’m enjoying the update so far, any update that brings new gameplay to the game is great imo. Like others have said though, kinda leaves me wanting a bit more especially after we waited so long for the update.

At least we get another update in a month.

I am pleased with this update. I love how the water looks when you're swimming in it I haven't found a pearl yet though
