I just can't stand how some people are rude, pushy, and don't read the posted rules. I've seen this far too many times. We should be able to reject people, who don't care about anything except the bells, and not be seen as villains. Hosts give up their time to share a great turnip price, we don't have to cater to the ingrates. Would it kill people to act decent and less like money grubbing jerks? This isn't aimed at everyone, just those who have no respect. :/ I'm done ranting.

To those who follow the rules, leave a lovely tip, and don't get mad at hosts: Thank you. You're the reason us hosts keep going.

I've never seen a greedy or rude person when selling turnips but hey it's different for everyone.

Why would a seller get mad at you? :x That's just unbelievably rude lol

It happened a couple times in my turnip sales cause I rejected people for not reading my rules and begging. I've also seen it happen with other hosts. :l So, yeah, those rude people exist and I'm so fed up with them.

People need to read posts, they get lazy and just don't because they want bells lol

I like to look at many turnip sales posted on different sites, I've peeked around and I've seen it happen. I'm not saying it happens every day on every single turnip thread, but that it does happen.

Pfft! If they want to be lazy with rules, then they can be lazy with no bells. People place rules there for a reason, but some people just don't care.

In my turnip sale I told people not to wander off, steal things, etc. I got one person who wandered way off and was taking flowers when I came upon them, so I flicked the switch. I got one person who didn't want to tip (it was a 600+ turnip spike). Also, another person stole some gold roses, but I never found out who. :|

.__. i agree with this. the majority are nice people and then you get the one person who just completely puts you off?? unless it's just me. i only did this once and this one person was very demanding "open your gates, WHERE ARE YOUR GATES" and had to travel from MY TOWN to theirs to get turnips. I was so annoyed. I was like "can't you use your storage..." and then they got annoyed with me

I've had people get angry at me for all sorts of imagined entitled reasons, such as one person who absolutely could not believe that I would not devote the next few hours to duping all the items she wanted in my town.

Rudeness is par for the course for a sizable minority of the community.

Heres a tip for the rules thing. Put rules in a spoiler tab and then put in a codeword make it say in the rules "Say ___ somewhere in your order post" The other thing is dont let them in if they are gonna be rude.

I remember someone putting that in their post, then somewhere below it saying, 'Ignore what I said above and say ___ instead,' as he suspected that some people just scan for the code word (as they've come to expect it) without actually reading the rules.

I had one guy coming over to sell turnips didn't say anything when he came he wander off , and when he was finished didn't bother to say thank you very rude guy didn't really Mind the tip at least he could of thank me. :/

I've never had turnips prices higher than 200, but if they were something worth threading, I'm not sure I could do what you did. One reason is that my re-tail is like a mile away and I don't know if I could trust people to go back and forth (they might also get annoyed with it too because I wouldn't approve of running ><) I think I would only invite people with like 50+ ratings. Seems kind of unfair, but I'm just a paranoid person :l Oh, and I know what you meant about rude people~ I've seen 'em.

My hats off to you Mayorsweety *bows* I think you were an excellent host with very fair and clear rules. Even if they were tiny :3 It takes a LOT of patience and trust to do this! Even when you were selling them again (and I didn't need to), I read all of your rules :> I thought they/you were very clever. I agree with everything you said ^^ -sorry if this is really long

No, it's not just you. Some people think they're so entitled. :| There should be a list dedicated to rude turnip sellers so people won't have to put up with their bs in the future.

I tell people to do something to prove they've read my post and I try to keep it creative whenever I host, but I never thought of that. I'll try that next time!

Tips are good, they help me out, but it's when people thank me that makes me feel all giddy and picks my spirits up. ꒰♡ˊ͈ ु꒳ ूˋ͈꒱

No, you are being completely fair. Allowing only people with high Wi-Fi ratings ensures you're only letting in those who are respectful and trusted. Remember, it's your town and your rules. :3

Whenever I see rude people I want to call them out, but I keep quiet cause I don't want to start drama. :x lol

Ahhh, you're making me blush! ; v ; I thought I was going to mess it up the entire time and was worrying if my rules were too much. I kept second guessing myself, but in the end it was a big success. Every polite, respectful turnip seller made me so happy and mushy inside.

My opinion on the rating thing is its unfair. Because what if that persons new? What if they barely post? What if they dont have friends or are shy? I'm fairly new so I don't have that many wifi ratings.

I don't find it unfair as it saves the host a whole lot of worrying on who is coming into their town. Personally, I'd rather have trusted people, who have a lot of ratings, in my town. If someone doesn't have any ratings then that's their problem. They should go do trades to up their ratings or they can find a host that doesn't have a rule on Wi-Fi ratings. Not everyone can be catered to.

You were really nice. I read the rules but I forgot to put it in color so I was like oops. But you let me in afterwards when I had to get off and you were very kind. Idk why people would be so rude to you when you had a really good price and kept it for a few days.

When I opened my gates for turnips no one stole anything, and I was left a bunch of tips. But I guess you attracted some bad sellers because of your high price and how long you kept it.

Also some people are generally upset when they learn they have to pay for tips. I see people on acnlconfessions complain about it. "I hate people who force me to tip111! These aren't your turnips!!11 Screw off!" im like lol ok

I once had a visitor sell turnips for 45 minutes in my town.Another girl was there selling too.Everytime she came back from retail, she would put down a bag of 99k.When I thanked her, the other person responded with(don't thank me yet). Then ran over and put 10k on the gound, then left without so much as a thank you.
I'm not a greedy person, but It was very insulting.Especially since she spent so much time selling in my town.

You had good ratings and you were polite, so I let it slide. I just had a good vibe from you. o uo)/

Yeah, that could've been it. = v = Haha. It was only 3 people I had a bad time with, but there were the 50+ others who were super nice. I was so happy to help everyone out that what the other 3 did didn't matter at all.

Pshhh lol they can sell in their own town then cause hosting is hard work :v speaking of acnlconfessions i haven't checked it in a week and i need to go read juicy posts

You aren't a greedy person for giving up your time and wanting a nice tip. >:c You waited there for almost an hour waiting on this person and you deserved more. People tend to see hosts as greedy when they ask for tips, but it's our time and our town. We should be able to host guilt-free.

I know that hosting for turnip selling can be hard work but I've never felt the need to require tips when I host and I usually get tipped pretty well. That being said, I tip pretty well when I have to sell elsewhere. My perspective on tips is, just like someone saying thank you, it should come from the person wanting to be nice and respectful. Anyone who's worked with the general public will tell you, not everyone tips and you're going to run into rude people. I know that this is a game and that we have a choice on who to let in our towns, but I still feel that applies.
