A couple of us have Switch 2 consoles by now, but there’s still many of us who don’t have one. But if you don’t have one right now, would you eventually get one? Would another Animal Crossing game be a strong enough incentive to get a new Switch 2?

For me, I’m not ready for a Switch 2 console yet. Once the next Animal Crossing game comes out (or at least if they release an HD remake of a previous Animal Crossing game), I’ll get one.

I'd like to get one, but I don't game as much as I used to so it'd be a waste of money, compounded with the fact I honestly just don't have the finances to buy one and by the time I do, I probably won't be interested in buying one. So yeah as much as I'd like one in theory, I don't think I'll ever get one lol

I already have an incentive to get a Switch 2:

I'm not sure about there being a new Animal Crossing game because of New Horizons, but we'll see! In the meantime, I'll have Pokopia to keep me occupied.

I'm gonna wait for more significant games to come out on the Switch 2 that I actually would wanna play (like AC6) so then I can buy them and the console all in one big bundle :D

The price is way too steep at the moment. I'll probably wait until it goes down even when AC6 comes out. Sure I'll miss events on here but with the current console and game prices, I'd rather wait and see. Funny enough, with how apathetic I am with current Nintendo I may end up not getting one at all.

I just have a lack of interest in Switch 2 right now. No games stand out significantly enough for me to want one. I feel satisfied with my current Switch games. And I'm spending more of my gaming time on PC games instead. I might consider it in the future after I play through lots more of this huge gaming backlog I have built up. New Pokemon or Animal Crossing might convince me, but even if they came out now I already have too many other games I'm interested in.

I bought mine the end of summer last year so I can't really comment on that, but I've heard now that New Horizon 3.0 came out that those still on the original Switch are having massive lag just offline and by themselves. Which is a shame.

I think I'll be waiting at the very least for the Switch 2 to get a big price cut. Personally I feel the original Switch is fairly limited in the number of games besides Nintendo's own franchises (and many of the Nintendo franchises feel like they've lost some of what made them special). If I didn't have a PC already then third party games might be more appealing, but given I can get 3-4 games on PC for the same price as 1 of them on Switch.

Perhaps a new Animal Crossing game would convince me, but New Horizons felt like they took a lot of the soul out of the game, so I'd be watching gameplay before taking the plunge this time.

I’m hoping for a switch 2 lite because the switch 2 is so expensive. If there is a lite, I’ll probably get it with the next animal crossing at release just like I did with NH. If not then i dont know, might be a bit longer

I'll probably just use my dad's to play AC 6 if they release it lol. If I can't do that, I'm gonna finally get a job soon so probably once I can afford one.

It'd be nice to have one, but even a regular switch costs three-four times as much as an average apartment's monthly rent where I live, no way I can afford that lol. Although I'm not sure I'd be buying ANY Nintendo console in the future since I'm starting to like it less and less.

Just buy the thing in Animal Crossing :D

I'm not sure, I wasn't happy with a number of things they did with the switch 2, on top of it being very expensive. A new ac game might convince me, but I'm not certain yet.

Not giving Nintendo any of my money. Planned on getting a used console and used games in the future if the Switch 2 library is strong enough but if they make keycard physical copies only instead of the usual game cartridge, Nintendo is dead to me.

If the Switch 2 is too expensive, I would be okay with a handheld device that only plays Animal Crossing and nothing else. But I doubt Nintendo would ever make single-game devices like that in today’s age.

I voted for Never. Honestly, the whole thing about Switch 2 consoles becoming bricked from detecting used/secondhand game copies or in general seemingly out of nowhere completely puts me off, whether it's true or not.

What if I were to pop in my Switch 1 copy of Link's Awakening remake and the system craps out on me? What if I were to borrow a game from a friend to try out?

Also the fact that Pikmin 3 Deluxe was unplayable/buggy as hell on the Switch 2. It's been fixed, but imo not a great first impression of the system.

Although, I might be begrudgingly convinced if a Switch 2 exclusive game I really want comes out, but I hope that doesn't happen. Games are too lackluster nowadays. I won't pay $70 - 80 - $100 for a mediocre game. I'll never forgive GF for the absolute disappointment that is Legends ZA
