Ive seen alot of people saying that they are tome traveling to open a plot, and I just wonder how that works? How do you get specific villagers to move out then with this method?

Well it's interesting how it works... here's the gist of it.

  1. Skip forward 1 week.
  2. Check if anyone has a bubble. If not, keep skipping 1 day at a time until someone does.
  3. If someone has a bubble, speak to them to confirm they want to move.
  4. If they do want to move, but they're the wrong villager, then close the game via home menu and skip forward a day.
  5. Keep checking every day, if the wrong villager has a bubble, no need to speak again. Just skip another day forward.
If the villager with a chat bubble doesnt request to move, skip forward a week and repeat from step 1. The bubble will pass from villager to villager if you skip a day without saving.

Also, while on step 3, dont take too long or the game will autosave and you'll have to start over!

People TT out a villager that they don't want so they can free up a plot so they can find new villagers.

I use the 15 day method but I've seen that there are other more efficient methods to try instead

Honestly villagers don't move out without you talking to them first and letting them go. So I personally like to use the 30 day method as it's faster than any other method I've used. But the 15 day method is also commonly used.

It is random which villager will want to move out. Except I don't believe the most recent villager to move in can move out (but I could be wrong).

You time travel until a villager wants to ping to move and after 2 days a plot will be open for you to go island hopping or adopt other villagers :) Usually every 2 weeks or so a villager will ping to move.
