Sorry if this is an existing thread, idk!

anyways, what are people's thoughts on time travel?

me personally, I think time travel ruined the fun of the game for me because i was always getting things done right then and there instead of waiting and playing day by day. literally the first day i got the game i time traveled to the cherry blossoms and halloween haha. i just feel like you wouldn't have as much fun playing with time travel rather than day to day.

Not saying TT is bad and you shouldnt do it, just wanna hear some opinions and experiences with TTing!

Well, I time traveled a lot, but I had fun anyways, I just didn't wait a year to have all the fun. I mean, I used to play it how it was supposed to be, but there was a time of the day where you just were like, "meh, I have nothing to do now cause I have all the bugs of this month/season" and you just stop playing, while with time travel, all those fun stuffs you can make it right on the moment. On the backside, yeah you are totally right, it can be boring sometimes when you get almost all stuffs and you see all you have to see between the months, things that should be waiting for you on a certain time of the year, so you can feel like "omg is halloween here also!" I found myself kind of ridiculous playing the toy day on summer irl. I now I'm in my right time and I'm playing like is supposed to be, and I still have some fun. So time travel has its good side and its back side. It is just matter of your personality. If you are very impatient, that would be a good solution with a few risks, but if you now how to control it you can make it right as you want it.

I must admit now that I'm playing it like it is supposed to be I feel better, but I feel even better with all the stuffs, villagers and upgrades I got thanks to TT. So I kind of liked it. I worked really hard to get ALL the stuffs I have now, I just got them faster, but all the fish and bugs, all the rare forniture, all the villagers I got was thanks to my hard work, nobody gave me anything. I played it and I enjoyed it. And I still have a lot to see anyway.

Oh yeah, and if you are a bussy person, you can use it to do some stuffs you can't durning certain hours.

Hm... I used to TT so much in my first town.

But Since i didnt know any of the rules of villagers and whatnot, i ended up getting my favorite character to move by accident :(

I personally don't time travel. The only exception is when I'm villager plot resetting that can sometimes take several days to get right. (Even that is pretty rare.) Other than that, I choose to play day by day. I admit it can get a little slow paced at times but then I think about the little things to look forward to like that tree will sprout tomorrow. It has its charm.

I'm totally cool with others time traveling, though. Just do what makes the game more fun to your liking! Don't be afraid of people judging, it's your game after all. :D

I only TT to cycle villagers out but once I'm finished I go back to the current date immediately. I like playing it day by day, but sometimes I need to TT because otherwise I'd miss the chance of taking a dreamie. I never TTed to unlock shops faster the first days.

When I first got new leaf back in 2013, I time travelled a lot, in a rush to unlock a bunch of things. While I do enjoy time travelling, nit ruined the main fun for me.

i like tting but i dont do it very intensely
only to get dreamies, move out villagers and maybe gather some supplies for landscaping

The game is meant to be a slow paced day by day kind of game. I Don't time travel a whole lot, mostly within a few hours of the day because of shop times and when visiting neighbours. This game pretty much can only keep me entertained for about half an hour before it starts to get boring so time travel does make it more interesting for me. I mean I did time travel a whole lot before when I was trying to upgrade my shops and all.

I TT like mad in my second and third towns, mostly because I'm in the process of putting down pwps and greenery. When I'm done though, I always fall back to the current date.

I don't care either way. I've never time travelled a lot, just to move out villagers or keep villagers from moving. In my first couple of years, I also TTed to catch up on events I'd missed.

Just do whatever's fun for you, it's your game.

I don't time travel heavily, I mostly only use it to change the time if the shops have closed and I needed to sell something etc, or if I've done everything I could in that day I might time travel a day forward, but I always TT back to the correct day after i'm done.
I used to TT a lot in my old towns, but imo you move through the game too quickly and it loses it's charm.

I've only tt'd to move villagers out or in, to get back to the original date if I've gotten to far when cycling out. Or when I need to get someone's order of items over 10.

I didn't start TTing until 2 months after I got my first copy. That was when I knew pretty much nothing. So I was able to get all the shops and everything at a "normal" pace which is slow and painful. But I TT a lot in my second town to speed things up. Now that my first town is nearly "complete" though, I'll just be playing in normal time since there's no reason to time travel.

In my main town I don't TT but do change the clock if I'm late starting. I like to play just before 5pm.

Before my guest town was a real town it was just a spare town. I played all the events and hosted them for my online friends.
At the time I didn't speak to the villagers much so holidays like Toy Day, Halloween and Harvest day were different with the TTing.
Holidays in my main town so much fun with the same villagers.

The guest town did unlock the shops with the tting but I wasn't trying to unlock them. Gracie was just standing there one day asking for a fashion check while I was wearing patched clothing from Halloween. Since it was only 3 months since the release I didn't know much about the checks. Once the town became a real one most of the tting stopped. Just left the town on the same day when I had high turnip prices or premium fruit for my friend . The PWP were all done without Tting.

Now it's 3 years of playing and when the town reached September 3 weeks ago I made a jump to late February. The town will run Late February to Late September and repeat. I'm not interested in playing fall/winter again there. I have my main town that can play in real time.

I have spare towns that I do time travel to grow weeds for my real town players. The players all live in tents so there is no big store. Just unlocked Leif and the hairdresser.

I've always timetravelled since I got my first game in 2006. There are times when I have the energy and joy to play and there are times when I don't. I appreciate them trying to make a life simulator, but I never had time for a game like that. I'll work on my city for 5+ hours on the weekend and then don't touch it again for another week or two. When tt'ing bores me I just play it day by day but by day 3 I'd already rather play a more active game. Maybe it's just because I want to have my city done before I can chill with my villagers and only pick the game up for holidays only.

I really wish there was a mix between NL and HHD where you could just design as many towns as possible - give them names, paths, villagers and not have to reset the game for hours just to get a good house placement. NL as it is now tried to be a town creation game but failed pretty badly. It's a good AC game, but they jumped the shark with their idea.

i time travel a lot, but that's because i don't have the energy to play every day. when i feel like playing i will play as much as i feel like on one day and then go to the next. for me this makes me feel a lot less bad and stressed out about playing/not playing the game.

i played every single day and never time traveled for months, but then i got way worse mental health wise and i just couldn't keep up with playing. (which sounds lame but yeah...)
when i decided that i should just play when i wanted to and then time travel it made me less stressed. now i'm even ahead of real time in one of my towns, which is kind of amazing considering that i took around a 2 month break hah.
