I personally prefer not to time travel because I like to play in real time and just go with the flow of it. I like playing at a chill pace and not rushing everything too much, or I would honestly not put the game down at all. But I understand that many people prefer TT-ing, and more power to 'em! We all play the game our own way :)

However, I kind of don't like that now I actually HAVE to TT for Bug-Off and Fishing Tourney because I'm back to working, I work at an on-site job, and my shift runs at the exact same time as these events (Saturdays from 9am-5pm, with commute getting me home at 6pm), but not the end of the world

Tomadchi Life really hit you hard if you time traveled. Just be glad Nintendo didn't do the dirty they did to that game.

I never played Tomodachi Life, so I'm curious: what happened?

It's definitely something. Personally I think it takes enjoyment out of the game, but it's also something I did in the past.

I didn't time travel to this day and I don't really plan on doing so but I have nothing against people who enjoy it.

I'll Time Travel if I have to. If I want to give a villager to my sister and she gets an open plot at some point I'll TT to get that villager out on the same day (because the odds of everything lining up organically is pretty slim). If I gave permission to a villager to move but the natural date of their empty plot is inconvenient for one reason or another I'll move the date ahead so things aren't a big stressful mess for me. Aside from situations such as these, however, I don't see myself Time Traveling in this game. Some days I'll play the game for hours, others I'll just hop on for a little bit, and it's good to have those intermittent lazy days to avoid burnout. :)

I time travel for certain things. If I’m in the middle of terraforming I’ll go ahead a day to see the finished structure and continue my design. I’ve also done it to get a villager one of my friends wanted in boxes when they had a plot available.

For daily enjoyment of the game I don’t time travel at all.

I prefer not to time travel. It's fun to play the game that way. However, I appreciate trading with people who does though.

i mostly time travel to get villagers to move out, move buildings, build bridges/inclines or to order more stuff.
i also like to play on daytime so i usually have a different time then irl

I consider it cheating but that doesn't stop me doing it now and then. I go backwards to things I miss because I don't play daily.

i try not to time travel, but i find it dumb when people get mad at other people for time-travelling. it doesn’t affect you so i don’t see why you care? lol

I didn't play it much, but it took any altering of time as a form of time travel. The 3ds didn't have a built in time savings system so you had to go back and manually change it. Or so I did anyway (if there was). I got Tomadchi Life around the time daylight savings was ending or beginning and had to go back/forth an hour.

So for an entire week if you time traveled or had to adjust the clock to get the right time, the game punished you. Like it didn't even matter if it wasn't by a full day and you just changed it to a minute/second. The game had these special events that would take place and skits/scenes that happened every hour or so at the fountain plaza. So adjusting the clock in any form made it where nothing happened for an entire week. Like it was so hardcore punishment I don't know why there weren't more people being vocal about it. It wasn't even worth playing the game for that week because nothing happened at all.

And I never have heard anyone complain about it. Or even bring it up. During the punishment time, if you adjusted the clock in anyway again, it went back to a week sentence. I learned that the hard way when I realized my NL time wasn't right and had to readjust it.

Kind of brings back memories of Smash4's Smash Purgatory(Hell) and for those who don't know, it was a system that punished everyone equally and threw them in a banned server. But they didn't know because they were never told that they were punished/banned and for what reason. I got it for 2 weeks or so and to this day don't know who reported me because I never do anything mean spirited. You could simply report someone for playing a character you don't personally like and it would be filed as a legitimate report because the online system was so poor.

Which is how Tomadachi Life handled altering the time. It never told you why. You just kind of figured out when nothing was happening.

I TT sometimes because when I come home from work, I'm so tired that I don't have the energy to play NH with the level of concentration I think is necessary lol. I've neglected my island for a week and ended up TTing day by day until I was caught up. IRL stuff just happens that warrants the use of TT. I try to minimize how much I do it though because of the obvious "consequences" and to reduce the risk of burnout.

Yes I timetravel. Mostly to push villagers out and since my bushes aren’t blooming anymore, I go back to when they were so I can see what colors they are. Constantly picking them up with my shovel wears down my shovel durability and that can get annoying as hell. TT may take the fun out of the game for some people but that doesn’t mean it’s the same for everyone obviously lol. It’s very weird that there’s a sudden uproar about this but oh well. I’ll survive.

I use it pretty often even though I try not to. I know the game is supposed to be enjoyed at a daily pace but I just restarted my island and I forgot how slooooow everything was in the beginning. I had to time travel to speed things up now that I know what happens. Also when I move buildings around and such I usually time travel if I have a lot of buildings to move because otherwise I’m stuck for like 7 days not being able to do anything because my buildings are in the wrong spots

Yes, I time travel like a crazy man. Back then the game bored the heck out of me cause of the limited things I could do daily, until I found out about TT and the game looked entirely different from then on, now I'm having the time of my life lol.

TT is love, TT is life. I use it all the time to get the hybrids I want. I also use it to milk Gulliver and Redd for all their worth

Whenever I TT (my version of this is hopping back and forth between two days 😂) I only do it to get a campsite villlager. I don’t really like it though because my town is filled with weeds afterwards... I don’t care if people TT though. Play the game how you want to play it! 😊

I'm so attracted to TT (to go back and get cherry blossoms, do the fishing tourney, etc) but I haven't pulled the plug yet. I have so many lovely friends who TT and always bring me back cool stuff I wouldn't otherwise have access to. Right now I think I'm content to take the slow road with little infusions of fun from TTing friends. I think people who TT are awesome, I just think it's not my jam!

Been kind of burnt out on NH for a while now, but when I did used to play alot, I actually loved time travelling. I'd go from day to day trying to kick villagers out, then go island hopping for ages, then get back to it. In the early days before I acquired a mass of NMT's, I used to sell all my spare DIY's and villagers I didn't want anymore for NMT's on nookazon, so I could keep island hopping 😅 .
