Bells

i have a bit of trouble getting a decent amount of bells per day, but i dont wanna sell all my fossils until i have more of the museum completed n i havent gotten any duplicates

Remember to find the money rock and plant 10k bells in the glowy spot every day! And when you start getting duplicate fossils that's going to be a great way to earn some bells daily as well.

I always check what the "hot items" are at the store each day, and sell those if I have the materials to make them. Other than that, I catch all the rare bugs that I see when I'm walking around, and if I'm really in need of bells, I usually earn the rest by fishing.

The best way to make bells in the game is turnips. If you're comfortable visiting strangers' islands, you can easily find a 500+ price every week either on here, twitter, or turnip.exchange. Try to buy for under 100 if you can. You can sell for around 2.5 million per trip if you fill your inventory.

You can also try selling some of the crafting materials through the nook's cranny board, people seem to always be looking for stacks, and gold nuggets sell quickly if you don't want to hoard them for later.

If you find any foreign fruit, plant them in your island. Some people replace all their hardwood trees with fruit trees because whatever you can get from the normal trees can also be found from cedar and fruit trees. (except maybe some seasonal things). You can get 1500 bells per tree every 3 days. It might not be impressive, but it adds up. Once you get duplicate fossils, you can start selling them

Something that might be useful to know, a money sapling can be moved without it having any effect on the money you get. So you could have all the money trees in one place if you would like that. They turn into normal hardwood trees once you shake off the money

If you donate your 4 daily fossils, you'll very quickly run into duplicates. They're a good source of money, and they won't disappear when your museum is full.

Money rocks and hot items are always good, the latter can give you more than rare bugs if the recipe is a little bit more complicated.

Big fish and rare bugs you can immediately recognize are a good steady source of income. Especially in the beginning you can pay off your first loans with them.

The Nook Miles islands can also be very fruitful if you're lucky. A foreign fruit island should bring in like 70000 bells. There are also islands filled with rare bugs or fish, and you can also create a Tarantula Island in the evening to farm like a good 200000 bells per inventory.

Other than that, just play the game. Balloons can have a lot of bells, shake trees for furniture items and trade with your villagers for new stuff. You can also buy a 3000 bell voucher for 500 Nook Miles, but it's not really worth it because you can probably earn more than 12000 bells worth of resources from a singular random island.

Is talking about duplicating items a no-no on this site?

How do you unlock the "hot stuff"
Is it on the sign outside of nook cranny? I currently have nook cranny.

There was a similar thread earlier so I'm just going to copy and paste my answer here:

Hot items! Some items take little to no materials and sell for a bunch! My favourite is the frying pan which only takes 2 iron and sells for 1000 bells each regularly.

If you have friends who play the game and they have a different main fruit, fill your pockets with fruit- even if you need to buy some from Timmy and tommy to do it, and then sell them at your friend's place. Then buy their fruit to fill your pockets and sell at your Nooks. Rinse and repeat for easy bells. It's not cheating either!

Turnips, 100%. Though it requires some investment and coordination with strangers to find the best prices, it can net you millions of bells in a week. DIY tarantula islands were pretty good (especially if you saved them for Flick) before they were nerfed. I haven't tried making one since then.

I also like to save expensive fish and bugs (2000+) for Flick and CJ when they come visiting since they'll buy for 150%. Money rocks, money trees, and selling duplicate fossils helps as well but they are not as big money makers for me.

my main thing is catching bugs - while some of their spawn rates got nerfed a bit, bugs (certain butterflies, moths, man-faces stink bugs, etc) are still my best source of income. that and fossils - you only get 4 a day but they still get you a couple thousand everyday ;w;

i rely heavily on the turnip market, which can be a frustratingly slow process. but on a day by day basis, i find that the four fossils i get and farming fish (getting bait, then fishing by the pier) is always a reliable method for some spare change too!

It’s going to get said a lot but turnips! Buy them when you have a low price (I only buy if below 100 bells) and then find an island to sell them at unless you have a good price yourself.

Money tree every day is definitely easy money. I plant 10k every day for the guaranteed 30k yield.

Save any valuable fish and bugs for when Flick and CJ come around.

Other than that I would just play the game as normal and you’ll be surprised how much money you can make by fishing for an hour etc :)

Sell hot items, play the stalk market, usually there's someone with a good price! Otherwise catching and selling fish is pretty good!
Planting money trees help in a pinch and of course selling items at a markup price to Flick and CJ is good too.

Turnips are probably the fastest way to make a lot of money. You have to invest a good amount of time into it though, especially if you want to sell early in the week and make a quicker profit.
