Hello everybody. Today, I will be teaching you the best way to catch sharks in AC:NH.
1. Get Your Timings Right
Sharks only spawn from June to September in the Northen Hemisphere, and December to March in the Southern Hemisphere. Here are a list of what time each sharks spawn:
Whale sharks: Any time
Other sharks: 4 PM - 9 AM
2. How to Find
Sharks are easy to find, with a sticky-out fin and a rather large size. They can spawn anywhere in the ocean. The best way to find them is to visit a mystery island without any river mouths to run around the island in a loop, and Fin Island (a rare mystery island) guarantees a few sharks.
3. Suckerfish & Sunfish
Suckerfish are a much more common fish that take on the fin of sharks. A technique to avoid them is to check the shadow size: smaller than usual means it's a suckerfish. This can not always work, though- the sizes are extremely similar.
Sunfish, spawning July to September, are considered slightly worse than sharks but are really cool. It is not necessary to avoid these finned creatures - they only sell for 4,000 bells but are still a worthy catch and look cool.
4. Catching the Shark!
So, you've found your shark? It's now time to catch it. They tend to bite early (1-2 bites) and are hard to catch once they have bit. You must be vigilant and listen for the sound for good catching.
5. What to do with the shark
Congatulations for catching a shark! This is what you should do with them:
First catch: Donate to Blathers
Second catch: Keep at home or sell
All catches after this: Sell
Thank you for reading, and have a good day!
