FYI: I attached the videos via Dropbox, you DO NOT need to create and account to view them! (Not sure if you'll be able to see them through mobile)
  • There are only three options for wetsuits as of now, all color ways are available to all players without having to catalog/touch trade for them.
First style you find at Nook’s Cranny where you buy tools/wallpaper at. These will be the Striped wet suits.

Second style you find at Nook Shopping that can be accessed via phone (if you have the app) or with Nook Stop at Resident Services. These will be Leaf-print wet suits

Finally, the third style you exchange for Nook Miles at Resident Services under the Redeem Nook Miles option, NOT to be confused with Nook Shopping. Here, you will be able to find the Nook Inc. wet suit and Nook Inc. snorkel.

  • I’m not sure about this, but the Snorkel Mask color ways can ONLY be obtained via catalog/touch trade because it is gift in a letter you get from Nintendo. There is a chance that if you have multiple players on the same island, they’ll get different colors (mine did). These CAN be purchased through Nook Shopping after cataloging.
EDIT: They can also be purchased at Able's info by @Stella-Io AND they can be gifted to you by your villagers info by @Hydrangea028

  • Pressing (A) and leaving it pressed down is actually quite fast, almost as fast as pressing (A) repeatedly, so I don’t think there’s really a need to keep pressing (A) repeatedly just to get from point a to point b… unless I’m trying to catch a ‘fast’ creature. (My friend was moving, but I think I have other videos where they're swimming in a straight line and it's pretty much the same thing).
  • You can actually jump off the dock that’s located at the Airport! I find this quite fun, but the lovely @LilBabyDelirium does point out some issue behind it regarding trading, for more info about these issues please go to this thread and be respectful!
  • Please correct me if I’m wrong, but Pascal doesn’t show up if you have a friend over and you find a Scallop. I’ve found 3 scallops while a friend was over, and he NEVER showed up (I haven’t seen him all day).
  • My friend started glitching after a while…. but they said I wasn’t and that on their end, their character never looked the same as it does here (This was on my island).
  • You CAN’T get on your rocks from the ocean (at least none of mine).
  • Doing a back flip from the pier is actually really hard…. Or maybe I’m just terrible at it. Edit: Technically just a flip, not a backflip.. my bad
I do get it at the end
  • Thanks to @icecreamcheese I found out you can jump dive from cliffs if they're close enough to the edge!
  • Scallops DO NOT have to be next to the net for Pascal to show up
  • You can actually see Pascal eat his Scallop! So cute~
Are there any other things that y’all have encountered about diving that I didn’t mention? I would like to know if I’m missing or overlooked anything!

More info from:
@Pinkbabydoll
I heard from someone else but haven't had a chance to verify myself: [apparently] you can sneak up on sea creatures by holding A instead of pressing it!
@Luxen
The update fixed a bug/issue where any buildings that were built or moved to the beach couldn't have any patterns placed on the 6 tiles (2 x 3 rectangle) in front of them.

Sea creatures no longer seem to vanish under the ropes anymore!!

Also, I heard from someone else but haven't had a chance to verify myself: appearantly you can sneak up on sea creatures by holding A instead of pressing it!

thanks for sharing all this! the backflip part especially - i saw someone say you have to like press the A and B buttons at the same time but i’m not sure how accurate that is since it doesn’t work for me lmaoo

I heard they changed that from NL! I'm glad they did or I would hardly have any creatures because most of them seem to hangout really close to the net!
That's really good info! I'll add it to the list!
crazy backflipper. O.O
Once every blue moon 😂 😂 😂 TY!
I wish we can get on the rocks. It's seriously a pain to swim back to land.
Yes :C I wanted to check out the area where I have my windmill because it's a hassle to access from land... but no...

I run while holding down (B) and then I press (A) when I think I'm close enough, it happens so fast that I don't know if I'm leaving the (B) button pressed down while I press (A) T.T

Heads up about the snorkel. You get one randomly from Nintendo, and you can obtain more cause they'll be in stock at Ables randomly, all colours. Just had them at my Ables yesterday. Took a couple of days for them to finally show up but they did.

I've already mentioned this in another thread about the diving update when it released, but I thought I'd share it again here.

Your villagers could also gift a snorkel mask to you too. I got a blue one from Nintendo and Punchy gifted me an orange one yesterday.

And as someone stated above, Ables can sell the snorkel masks too.

Wow. I didn't know you could do a backflip. Thanks for the tip!

Yep. Tried and tested all thanks to the giant isopod, vampire squid and the gigas giant clam. I've been trapping them on the corners of the net so they have nowhere else to go.

I guess this also fixes the issue if not being able to remove a custom pattern directly in front of a building that was placed on the beach ?
(The path was there before the building got moved, but then couldn't be removed)

I've noticed that after the update I can consistanly get my villagers to ask me to do things for them (deliver items to other villagers) each day without fail. before the update, it was more like once each week.

I believe it should, otherwise Nintendo will have some more patching to do (besides all the other known issues so far).

It's not having a friend over that makes Pascal show up - it's having your gates open. So even if no one is visiting, if the gates are open, he won't appear! I'm still not sure why they made that decision. It would be nice if he would show up as normal.

A tip for doing a flip/dive: run at full speed then press the jump button well before you get to the edge - so, one or two boxes before the edge of the rock/pier/dock you're trying to jump off of. I kept trying to hit it too late, right at the edge, and kept wondering why all I could do was cannonballs.

You come up for air a heck of a lot quicker then you do in new leaf or at least from what I remember. I think in new leaf like 3 puffs of air would come up before you were forced to surface, but in new horizons it's one and then you go up immediately. Kinda annoying if you ask me especially for the faster critters.

Oh that's quite interesting. I think I'm gonna test it out, I'll just close the gate after my friend arrives. I'll post here if Pascal does end up showing up with my friend on my island.

YES! I noticed that there's not much margin of error with the distance between you and the edge of the rock/pier t.t

I never played NL, so I didn't/don't have anything to compare it to time wise... or anything really lol. But I did notice the "coming back up for air" I though it was cute and 'realistic'.

I'm glad there are more snorkels. I still have the orange one and blue one from Nook Inc.
