The Information Desk: Ask questions about the site here!

I'm not 100% sure and I could be wrong but I think that number has something to do with how many reactions the original message in that thread got, it seems to be 0 if the original message got zero reactions in the thread. The Official Feedback Thread's reaction score is 27 and the original message got 27 reactions, So...
That seems to be accurate. The original message in this thread has no reactions, and its score was zero. Checks out.

There seems to be an issue with resizing images. If for example I set the height to auto and change only the width, the image will appear super stretched on desktop and is only fixed by adjusting the height also. It's lead to some weird display results in my art thread. As far as I know, mobile isn't affected. Could this get looked into possibly?

I can't remember to be honest, I think someone will know more than me, but I think you get a certain amount when you first register on the forum? I think you also get an additional amount after your anniversary, but I don't know what year it is.

Thankyou! Makes sense!
It's very handy currency to have. I used it for the animated pfp feature instead of using bells since it's very pricey. Also I think a username change. I couldn't make it just Blue like I wanted to cause someone must have it claimed...curses! But I was happy to find a workaround.

I understand bells now but not seashells. How do you get them?
The other members have already answered this, but I'll post this from our FAQ thread for more detail.

What Are Seashells? How Do I Get Them and Use Them?
10 seashells are given to new users to make purchasing some forum add-ons like name changes or user title color items more accessible.

If you've been a member of The Bell Tree for a minimum of two years and have at least 20 posts, you will receive an additional 10 seashells.

There is no other way to obtain these at this time. Only certain items may be bought with seashells but we are hoping to add more variety in the future. You may purchase add-ons with seashells in the shop here.

Hello Staff,

I have submitted multiple requests regarding the deletion of my account but have not received any response so far. I understand you may be busy, but I would appreciate confirmation that my request is being processed, or guidance on any further steps I need to take.

I'm not staff but I'm afraid unfortunately it is not possible for you to delete your account because it has more than 12 posts on it and only accounts with under 12 posts may deleted. This rule is probably set in place because deleting accounts with many posts would break the forums and make things confusing by removing threads and whatnot.

Thank you tor the response. Additionally, I have offered numerous compromises to removing my content. I believe it is impossible for me to go through each and every post to edit it with blank text, this would not include users who have quoted my account.

This excuse is futile as I also have sent legal proof of the right to remove and right to be forgotten. vbulletin (which I believe TBT is based off of) has a built in account and content removal feature.

Actually, TBT started with Zetaboards or some other early software. vBulletin was only middle-era TBT.

I genuinely hope it works out for you. The next best thing you can do is edit all of your posts to blank and delete what you can(profile posts), you are correct in which there are some things you cannot edit because others have quoted your messages.
I have edited a very large number of my old posts prior to 2024 to blank because I don't need people to keep finding old posts I don't want to remember, it made me lose all my TBT and go 2,000+ TBT negative (meaning I needed to earn 2,000+ TBT to make it go un-negative and start earning TBT again) but it was worth it to me.
You can help keep track of all your posts you'd like to delete by finding all the threads you've ever posted in and adding up all the posts in each of these threads to see if it gets close to the 3,179 posts you've ever made. Just in case you didn't already know this you can see how many posts you've made in a thread by hovering over your mini avatar that is next to the original poster's avatar

There's also a date search filter feature which lets you see posts made by a specific member during a specific time frame, you can use it to search for and edit all of the posts you've made during a specific time such as during the year 2022 or anything you posted last month, let me know if you need help using it.

I understand it is extremely time consuming to go through and edit all your posts and you probably aren't in the mood to do this but unfortunately this is pretty much the only thing you can do. Unfortunately most people who want to leave the forums are forced to leave up the thousands of posts they've made over the years for everyone to still see after they've gone. It really sucks but that's just how it is and how your digital footprint works. Like I said I hope it goes well for you but I don't think staff will ever listen to you.
