Hello!

Do you guys think swimming and/or diving will return? I really hope so. At least being able to swim around in the ocean since the game takes place on an island. I seemed to have come across a picture of the museum exhibits which showed an underwater collection, so maybe diving could make a return. Any additional info would be appreciated:)

It will either return or it doesn't. Either way, I don't particularly care much for the feature. In New Leaf, the feature felt forced and its only use to me was to force my villagers to 'ping' me so I could collect PWPs faster.

So if it returns, great. I'll use it whenever I feel like it, I guess.
If it doesn't return, oh well. I'm not going to be too upset, if at all.

I hope it comes back, but instead of the way it's handled in New Leaf, we actually get to go underwater to check out the reef.

I bet it is in the game in some shape or form. I wouldn't mind if it didn't come back. It was nice to do, but it became boring really quickly for me. I prefered fishing or bug catching to diving. I did like the pirate set we got for trading scallops to Pascal.

Yes, I think it would be really weird to have a game based around an island and not have swimming

I don't see why they would take it out. It makes even more sense to be there because it's an island. I think it'll be there.

I hope it does, and that diving underwater has been expanded upon. Diving for sea creatures could be semi realistic, it would be awesome.

Plus, I want to see Pascal for the awesome pirate items.

I hope it's still there in the game. It was a little bit fun going swimming in the ocean and looking for those little sea creatures. It it does indeed return to the game, hopefully they expanded upon it and made it much better.

Just like the bushes, theres no sense in removing something so simple while expanding the franchise out in so many other complex ways

i mean we're on a island.. i'd be surprised if not. especially because they just introduced it in the last mainline game and it didn't receive much negative feedback if any at all

I hope it's still there. It would be weird to remove given the island setting. Plus it would mean less things to collect for the museum, and I don't think they'd want to do that.

Praying for this daily.

They have the option for NL and I feel like it'd be really awkward not to be able to swim off your island in New Horizons. It's practically made for the game/environment.

We currently have no idea if it's in the game or not. Despite all they've shown, there's a lot we still don't know.

However, on the map in the airport, there's an interesting thing of note. The map shows a second island to the north (possibly Harvey's), and a perimeter of more shallow water around both islands that looks like it might be used for diving. It is possible diving may be a thing that will get patched in at a later date.

I really hope it?s in there but they haven?t exactly hired at its return. Every video I?ve seen that involves the museum hasn?t shown creatures you collect while diving (unless I?ve missed something)!

I don?t think we really have a good reason yet to think that swimming won?t return. It?s not surprising that certain things that aren?t new features won?t be shown ahead of time.

I hope it will be implemented and expanded upon at least a bit. A tweak to how it worked in NL might also be nice but removing it entirely including all the creatures would be kinda sad. I didn't play NL so it would be nice to try it out myself and have more things to hunt down for the museum.

I wouldn't totally miss it to be honest, but it would make sense to include it again especially now that we live on an island. I hope they change the action because I always found diving to be a bit awkward.
