I'm getting Super Mario Maker, but I really want to get all the items, but waiting 9 days means that I might not be able to get them all since my holiday break will be over. Besides switching dates, IGN said in September or something that Nintendo confirmed another way, and that they were able to unlock it all in one night? Does anyone know this way of unlocking stuff? Thanks! :)

Spamming blocks.

But does that involve time travel?

I haven't used the activity log on Wii U, but if it's like the 3DS, I'm hoping it won't have the incorrect play time.

Just fill blocks until you get a notification. You don't have to change any settings. Clear the blocks after getting the items and do it over again.

Really?! So I don't have to go ahead and change the settings? Do I clear it and then reset the game to the title screen though?

Basically, be sure you're in edit mode for at least 5 minutes. You'll then get a message that more course elements are arriving, which is when you'll want to place truckloads of blocks. Fill your screen with any type of block, highlight a screen-worth of blocks in Grab mode and copy them all over the place.
If you run out of room, you can just undo your steps and repeat the process until more course elements actually arrive.

Do this trick a number of times until you have every course element in the game.

Okay so staying in edit mode is basically the first step, and then placing blocks is the second. And I can just keep it open and never have to reset while doing these steps?

You are correct. You don't ever have to quit the game in order to unlock every course element.

Oh wow! Thank you so much for telling me! I'm so excited to know I can do it properly without time travelling! I really appreciate it for warning in advance so thank you.

Remember though, you have to use all the current available items at least once! When you unlock a new batch of items however, you only have to use the newly unlocked items at least once, using the older items will still raise the amount of placed items needed to unlock another batch of items. Just make sure that you have used everything at least once! Placing and immediatly deleting an item is enough already!

Ah ok! Sounds easy enough! Thanks so much!
