On June 1st I logged in as my resident rep and Isabelle told me it was wedding season. On June 2nd my son asked me to log in on his profile on my Switch so his character could send hubby the Father's Day Thank you cup. When I did Isabelle told my son's character (which I was playing as) about the Summer Shells & gave him the DIY. When I was done sending hubby the cup on behalf of son I logged into my profile. Isabelle told me there was no news. I thought she might have to wait until the next day to tell me. June 3rd arrives and Isabelle tells me someone's in the campground. Yay... but what about those shells? June 4th hits and Isabelle still hasn't told me about the Summer Shells. June 5th - nothing about the shells. I've also been checking my beaches as my character and I haven't gotten a single Summer Shell. I haven't yet played today as we had stuff to do this morning but I'm not hopeful there will be any Summer Shells today.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Has anyone heard anything about this? I tried googling on my own but got nothing. Thanks!
I've gotten summer shells, but she's yet to talk to me or give me anything regarding them. I asked around with my friends and half of them don't have the shells and half of them have the shells, but haven't received any DIYs from Isabelle.
The same thing happened to me! It seems like my 2nd player s the only one finding shells (only three so far, but still…), and she got a DIY from Isabelle but I didn't :'3
It seems like a lot didn't recieve the new DIY... Me and my sister share the island and neither received recipe/summer event announcement, but we still find a couple of shells a day. The positive is that you can still collect the summer DIY (i've already found a couple popping baloons)
I’m on June 1st and I got nada, even Isabelle mentioned nothing of the wedding event, and Harvey didn’t call either on any character... (but my sister and my secondary character got their aprons from their moms...mine hate me ;.
I have 2 islands with 2 players. Isabelle hasn't mentioned summer shells for all players.
For 3 days the extra players were getting the summer shells and DIY from recipes. Main players found no shells/recipes.
The last few days my main players found some shells and got a few recipes.
Read the recipe from Isabelle is the Shell Wreath. That recipe is also in a balloon. Two players got that recipe from a balloon.
I remember the Cherry Blossom recipe from Isabelle took a long to get.
None of characters got a DIY from isabell...
Also maybe a single shell has spawn for my island rep (who is my actual character so I play as all the time) but they spawn way more frequently on one of my other residents but not the other. Its really odd.
yeah I have the same problem too. On the other players I've been finding summer shells, but not on my main one. Also, I've been getting the diys from balloons, but so far I obtained the wall paper, floor, and shell pochette from them.

I've gotten summer shells, they're just extremely rare (avg like 2 per day? and I have 2 characters, and it's 2 a day TOTAL not per character for me atm, though granted I'm not on my second character much). Isabelle's also never mentioned them at all, and she hasn't given me any summer DIYs either... all the summer DIYs I got so far were from balloons.
no DIY, no mention, saw a whole 2 summer shells since the 1st and now even regular shells are not spawning... makes it easier to find the bottle i guess.
sorry to double post just wanted to say i can confirm that you can get the shell wreath diy from a balloon cause i just got it from one. so no worries if isabelle doesnt give it to you. also i would suggest clearing the shells off ur beach every so often to get summer shells. i do it several times a day
I've been clearing my beaches regularly. Today I gotten 1 summer shell so far but I got 5 yesterday. Luckily there's not that many summer shell recipes and most of it is flooring and wallpaper. Unless you have plans for a house on your island, you only need to make one of each to play around with them on Harv's island.
