Summer Shells on just one human resident?

I'm finding shells on more than one player character, but they are very rare. I find maybe 1 or two. I didn't get the diy on any character... but I did find the wreath in a balloon, so I'm not too bothered.

I have two characters on my island (both mine), and neither one was given a recipe by Isabelle, and the only day there has been an announcement since the start of the summer season was on June first where she announced wedding season. I have gotten a bunch of the summer recipes on my island rep from balloons including the wreath that Isabelle was supposed to give me, but have only found like 1-2 shells as that character. I have gotten maybe around 20 summer shells so far, but all of them aside from 1-2 were found on the alt character.

Isabelle can give out DIY's? Does she hand them to you across the counter when you talk to her about the island star rating and stuff? Or when she's doing the daily announcement? Or what? I didn't get anything from her, and I don't remember her mentioning anything about shells. I've been finding those special blue shells on the beach since June 1st, and I've found the shell wreath recipe twice in balloons, among other recipes. So, what's going on with Isabelle?

Isabelle's DIYs are given during the daily announcements. She'll give you that instead of a tangent.

As for the thread subject, I have a good few summer shells in my storage now but no DIYs. Keep forgetting my slingshot, such is life!

Weird! Does Isabelle perhaps only give recipes to non-resident-representative characters? I have just the one character on my island, and I didn't get one, and I think the first post said that their resident representative character didn't get anything from Isabelle, while one of the other playable characters on their island did.

Nope ! I only have my resident rep and have gotten them on her. It just seems to be a random day within the time period she could give it to you. Not sure what determines it, though.

My roommate recently started playing on my switch and I feel like I always get summer shells only after she has logged on. So yeah, basically it seems the second character on my island has a higher chance of spawning the summer shells :/

Thank you all for the feedback. I'm glad to know I can get the shell wreath from a balloon but I'm still not getting Summer Shells. I usually clean my beach of shells to sell them (either to get NM or Bells) and still no shells. I haven't been back on the character Isabelle told about them since so maybe that character is getting Summer Shells. Does anyone know if we can transfer them between our characters?

The character that gets all the shells can drop them so the other character can pick them up, you could also craft what you need with the other character and drop the item

Extra players can drop the shells and the recipes. When it's a new recipe my extra players never learns them. They drop the recipe for my main player. Last night I completed the summer DIY recipes for my main player with the help from my extra player.
