Styling villagers!

[Marshmallows]

I know a lot of people like to keep villagers 'original', but gifting villagers clothing can be fun and can give them more character.

I didn't like Boots' jester shirt which kind of looked ridiculous, so I gifted him an aloha shirt which he loves! Twiggy started wearing a track jacket all the time for some reason, so I gifted her a summery plaid dress and I think it suits her pretty well.

I'd love to see how others have styled their villagers! Do you have any non original clothing favorites? Please share pics if you have them!

I gave Molly a yellow Young Royals Shirt, and she looks amazing in it! It makes me think of her outfit in NL.

Diana also wears a pink nightgown (although I didn't give it to her) and she surprisingly pulls it off! I find it cute when she just walks around in her night clothes (also sorry, I don't have any pictures!)

Ah yes! The pink nightgown is really cute and surprisingly versatile! I gave one to Mint and she looks super cute in it as well.

I just lie to give Sherb whatever and he always looks adorable so. Sherb is definitely no longer even 1% original bc ive given him soooooo many shirts and glasses and hats

Pinky was one of my first five villagers and I have given her a ton of clothing. She looks super cute in her pink bow and this really sweet dress I gave her. I know a lot of my villagers aren’t original but I also think giving them outfits is great

Rudy ended up only wearing the helmet once and displayed it in his house, so i had to kick him out for the second time and reinvite him. Now he only has the viking top which he wears pretty often.

My town has a medieval theme so I thought it’d be appropriate to give Merry a pink Renaissance dress. I did want to use some qr codes on my villagers but the designs are from NL or HHD, and the game won’t let me hang those ones up in the store.

Otherwise, this would be Kiki; this is a screenshot i took in HHD. I found a design that is similar to this yesterday (same dress but I still like this version better).

Roscoe wears the noble coat often but I had to go to Harv’s studio at the time to get a picture of him in it.

I gave Henry a fishing vest (I think accidentally) but he looked super cute in it! that and the t-shirt with the green plaid shirt around the waist, can't remember the name haha. but my absolute FAVE thing I've ever gifted anyone is retro shades to Rodney. makes my day every time I see it

I gave Jambette a clover dress to match her standard green froggy coloring.

This was the denim overalls but when Kiki put them on they turned into an overall dress.Still pretty cute.

The popsicle boys:Cyd-denim vest,Spork-blue Guayabera shirt(I always call it the Guacamole shirt),Graham-royal shirt

I got this morning coat for Raymond because it looked like something he'd definitely have in his closet.He wears it a lot.

It is fabulous.I saw this in Able Sisters and immediately thought it would look good on horsey girl Annalise.

In NL I was obsessed with keeping my villagers original, and even gave some of them away because they picked up the default shirts from the Able Sisters, but now I don't care anymore. In fact, it's a lot more fun to give cute clothes to my favorites because it feels more personal that way. I've given a ton of different outfits to my favorite villagers, and they all look really cute. Unfortunately I don't have many pictures, but here's the best one I have:

Raymond really likes the monocle and tailcoat I gave him. He also has tortoise specs (in brown) that he wears sometimes. Any formal wear looks great on him, really.

I see Boots and Rudy in this topic. I haven't given any of my villagers new clothes. Some of the other villagers have given new clothes, though.

Goldie is my favorite so I try to get her to match with me a lot haha

I always give my villagers clothing items/furniture. I think thats a big part of the game you can miss out on by keeping villagers original. Besides some of the clothes they start with aren't that nice and there's loads of items you can give them that match their personality better! I always try to give them things that are in their lane but don't limit myself by keeping them ungifted!

I like to make matching outfits with villagers, or give them things they love!!

I match with Derwin, Dom, and Wolfgang, but don't have any recent pics w/ him ; -;

I have also given clothes to other villagers!! Barold, wears the yellow bone tee, Merengue has a pink hibiscus mumuu!
I gave a blue bow to match Whitney's default dress, Dom has the handmade crown to match his handmade cape but he doesn't wear it very often... LOL
but.. still trying to find perfect bits for everyone :]

None of my villagers are original because I LOVE to give them clothes that looks good on them and fits their preference in style and color

Because Claude and Zucker are both bug fans, I gave them the Bug Aloha Shirt and Ladybug Umbrella that you can win from the Bug-Off. They always use the Ladybug Umbrella when it rains now. Very cute.

For Raymond, I've given him Flashy Jackets, Doublets and Career Jackets, and I think he wears them very well.

Coco gets colourful dresses because her default dress is so drab. Love how the Zigzag Print Dress looks on her.

I just give them stuff that matches their colors/vibe. Haven’t given most of them TOO much, I think Marina has the most but that’s probably because her previous owner gave her some outfits. She looks so cute in all her outfits except for one, it’s an atrocious salmon (ish) pink and I just hate it ;-; no use complaining to Isabelle though, so I don’t bother
