Streetpassing problems?

So I have streetpass activated on my ds (mainly use it for acnl) and lately it's been streetpassing my own town?? I used to pick up a pass from my mom's town every day but now it keeps showing "Model house of Cass from Lilac" in the noticfications. How is that even possible? Ofc my own house doesn't show up in the showcase but I can't get any new streetpasses which is annoying. Anyone else ever have this problem or know how to possibly fix it?

Edit to add: My mom's ds picks up the streetpass still and has a model home of my house in her showcase so no problems on her end apparently. Just my own ds being odd.

That's what I'm thinking. It only recently started after I got a second cartridge and began playing that cartridge on my ds. I haven't tried streetpassing with the 2nd town yet, only with Lilac but I'll try with the 2nd town tomorrow (since I can only streetpass the same house a day I think?) and see if it still shows up weirdly.

Two different New Leaf cartridges in the same system? Might cause problems due to whatever game data is stored on the system. I know very little about this but that was an excuse Nintendo customer support came up with for not wanting to help me with something, I forget.

Ahh okay, that's probably what it is then. Well I can deal with no streetpasses, annoying but understandable.

happened to me before, with my old town that i resetted very long ago. i don't know how it even happened.

not getting streetpasses from other people means there isn't other people in your area with acnl. if it's not working with your mom's town anymore...maybe turn streetpass off and on? (the obvious, but idk how to fix this in that case)

I have 2 copies on a 3DS and still get tags. Does your 2nd town have streetpasses working? When I made my 2nd town I never set up streetpasses. I than noticed that my main town wasn't getting tags. Check with Digby and he said I need to turn it on. Opened my 2nd town and got the streetpasses opened. I started getting tags again.

Early on I was opened the 2nd town first and it took some tags. I now make sure to open the copy that I want the tag to go.

Okay I just set up streetpass on my second town, didn't have it before. And I don't think now it was the data thing because I realized I have put both of my cartridges in my mom's ds and she was still getting tags on her town so perhaps it was this issue? Either way it's activated for the 2nd town now so I'll see if that works!

EDIT: Well that didn't work. I just at this moment got a streetpass on my 2nd game and I thought it might have been from my mom's town. Nope. My mayor from my first town (and his house ofc) are in the showcase of my second town. HOW does that even work lmao I didn't even have the first cartridge in either ds. :'I

When you have multiple copies of Animal Crossing: New Leaf on one system, it considers streetpass to be "activated" for both titles as long as the HHA showcase is unlocked in each town. You should get the streetpasses in whichever copy you load into first. It will only give you streetpasses for one HHA plaza, even if you have multiple games. Other people will also only exchange information with one of your villages, or the other, but not both.
