Question about the 3DS

Important question:

I own a New Nintendo 3DS XL. I’m considering picking up these two DS games after I play through The Wind Waker HD:
Phantom Hourglass
Spirit Tracks

Now, the question is, will these games work on my 3DS? I only ask this because it’s the newer model, so I don’t know how DS games fare on it. I know the 3DS can play DS games btw. I’m just wondering if it’s worth it. Will the games run smoothly? Or will it be glitchy? Please help! Should I bother purchasing these games in the distant future? Or will it just be a waste?

All DS games work normally on the 3DS. The only difference is where the mic is located which is important to know because Phantom Hourglass has a few sections that require you blow into the mic and Spirit Tracks’ musical instrument depends on blowing into the mic in order to be used.
