Stagnant Nook Miles

So people using 2000 NMTs to find Raymond isn't any indicator that Nintendo considers some characters more "valuable" (read: rarer) than others? I bought a case of series 4 Amiibo cards, pulled 4 Hippeux's and 1 Stitches...that also tells me the RNG maybe isn't completely random.

I do like your suggestion of buying species specific NMTs for a greater amount of Nook Miles.
The problem with your Raymond scenario comes with the fact of how villagers are spawned on an island. On a mystery island, the game rolls for species first and then a specific villager. There are 35 species in total, giving a 1/35 chance to get a cat. THEN, the game has to choose a cat to pull for you. The worst-case scenario (meaning you have no cats) means that you have 23 cats to pull Raymond from. All in all, you have a 1/23 chance ON TOP of a 1/35 chance. It also means that cats like Moe and Monique are just as rare as Raymond. It’s not value of the villager; it’s how the game pulls villagers on mystery islands.

Edit: @Mick wild children think alike, huh.

Not really. Mystery islands have an equal 1/35 chance for every species, and within those species an equal chance of getting any of the villagers. This means that you have a 2.85% chance of finding a cat, and since there are a lot (23) cat villagers only a 0.12% chance of finding Raymond.

This means that you're going to have about a one in 850 chance to get him, but that doesn't mean you're going to get him in 850 tickets - it's like rolling a dice, you'd expect to roll a 1 about once every 6 rolls but sometimes it takes much longer because previous rolls do not affect it.

Some people will get him within ten tickets, and others will spend 2000 and get unlucky. Chance is a wild thing!

I'm not sure about the Amiibo cards - I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did make some cards less common for that one, because more card sales directly equals more money there. :D
For sure it is! Some have all the luck, and some have very little.

I think Nintendo will release new villagers amiibo. I don't there's a way for them to capitalize on paid DLC because the WHOLE community would have the items to cataloging or touch trade. Same thing is happening with Super Mario Maker 2 there would be no paid DLC.

They probably will, the game sold so well and it would be a dumb move not to release those from a business perspective. The only question is when :)

It would be possible for them to do something really evil and have DLC items that behave like the bugs and the fish, which you cannot drop, only place... They probably won't. Imagine the reactions from the community though ^-^

i have around 200k miles and also have nothing to buy - i’ve got all the diys from there as well as all the items i’ll need for now so i’m honestly just hoping new stuff will be added at some point aha. i’d absolutely love having a ferris wheel - it would fit my carnival/funfair area so well ;;

Jeez, you guys. You must be really going at it with those dailies and achievements! I have like...30k, atm. Sure, I've bought like 20 street lamps, probably 25 nook miles, and all the upgrade stuff, but you guys are loaded. Go take the time to cash out those bad boys and go buy some stuff on Nookazon. Y'all're making your nook phones slow with all those miles using up all that storage space.

I haven’t bought from mine in what seems forever. I’d love more items maybe more carnival/park themed items to go with the teacup ride and sandbox etc? Maybe they could add a Ferris wheel, carousel, hook a duck for a carnival area or a roundabout, see-saw, swings for a park area. I mean they could literally add anything and I’m sure we would be hyped! We just want more stuff c’mon!

I only have like 170k in mine but it is pretty stagnant, I'm not buying most of the nook mile items since it doesn't fit with my island theme lol, I do hope they add more to it and preferably with more diverse themes than just modern ones they have...

Does anyone else feels like the nook mile store is stagnant? I have over 600k miles and have nothing to buy

Would they ever add new items? Maybe a carousel or ferris wheel? What item you think would fit the store?

You should profit off from them. I am currently collecting different colours of both drink and snack machines. :)

Maybe they'll add some more late game items as time goes on? Would be cool if they added some really big items that really change up how your island looks. What about a weather machine that predicts the weekly forecast, I think that would be a pretty interesting addition.

If they'd let me redeem nmt in bulk then i wouldn't have so many. I have about 95k becauseI wasn't sure if i could go over 99k (thanks for clarification on that)

Like I hate having to select it, do the print and pocket animation and then having to select "yes" to select another one.

Also HATE Orville making me go throufh 85 dialogue bubbles to travel once.

YES YOU STUPID BIRD ALL MY TOOLS ARE PACKED

I would be down for weather forcasting machine

I'm wondering should it be a 100% accurate or should there be room for some error? Say maybe the machine is right about 80% of the time or maybe it only tells you when shooting stars are coming up.

I think in game ppl would get annoyed if it's not enitrely accurate. IRL ppl just accept it.

In stardew I had the tv next to the bed and I would pretty ticked if my luck for the day was off.

I don't even mind the dumb jokes as at least it isn't a whole new bubble. Mashing b gets you through it. Mashing b to Orville has had me say "no" to the tools question, meaning i have to restart the dialogue.

I know you can hold r but madhing b is just so ingrained in my being that i always forget lol

Fair. Mashing button is my fav thing. I wish local connection wasn't the first item to select.

A few items I'd love them to add:

Willow tunnels
Garden trellis with vines etc.
Greater variety of fountains
A Mount Rushmore style cliff carving of your villager's face, plus any islanders or NPCs of your choosing
