Stagnant Nook Miles

I've said it before and I will say it again: This game does not know any 'high tier' villagers. That's a label that the community pushes onto certain ones, the game itself treats them all as equal. There is no list in the code that says "Hey, this one villager is worth more than others" and having one would never work because this is purely a subjective thing. ;D

At best, they could add islands that are bound to a species... Being able to tell the game "I want to go to a gorilla island" would certainly help people look for their favourites.

fair. A ticket to different islands with a different experience would be nice. The mayday event was nice while it lasted.

A while ago, I bought quite a few streetlamps for decorating my residential area. I'd love to see a gazebo as a new item. In the meantime, I save up my Nook Miles for villager searching.

Maybe Nintendo should add some of the public works projects we had in new leaf and incorporate it in NH through the NM shop. I would like to have a police station, signs, traffic signals, cube sculpture, statue fountain, tower, etc. (there’s many more projects that are city-themed but I’m too lazy to list all of them xD)

I pretty much only buy nook miles tickets as I'm still looking for Kiki and Lolly.

But I agree, there should be more items available to purchase. Like when the seasons change, holiday items, etc.

i buy everything in the nook miles store with bells in online marketplaces and i still only have 80k nm how the crap did you get 600k in 4 months of release

I'm kind of glad the nook miles craze has died down and is now stagnant/useless. It's all anyone ever wanted to trade anything for and it really inflated the trading economy a few months back in a bad way.

i remember when 1NMT was 250k IGBs. fun times.

New items would definitely be cool! Lately I've mainly been saving my Nook Miles to buy tickets when I need new villagers. Speaking of which, some new varieties of Nook Miles islands would be AWESOME!

I think it's always good to have extra Nook Miles because you never know when you want to go on an impulse Nook Mile villager hunt. Or if the latest thing -- or even that Raymond you really, really want -- costs all your Nook Miles!

Yeah I'd appreciate something more to use them for, they just kind of rack up. I never buy tickets with them because I find villager hunting so miserable so I have plenty of miles just sitting about.

I might end up wasting a few mystery island tickets to get bamboo sprouts every now and than, but other than that I don't use it much. Kind of sucks that bamboo only grows the sprouts one time and that's it. They probably heard the complainers complaining about how they never stopped growing, but why make the sprouts materials needed for DIY? It's not like all the other resources that you can just replenish every day.

So people using 2000 NMTs to find Raymond isn't any indicator that Nintendo considers some characters more "valuable" (read: rarer) than others? I bought a case of series 4 Amiibo cards, pulled 4 Hippeux's and 1 Stitches...that also tells me the RNG maybe isn't completely random.

I do like your suggestion of buying species specific NMTs for a greater amount of Nook Miles.

Not really. Mystery islands have an equal 1/35 chance for every species, and within those species an equal chance of getting any of the villagers. This means that you have a 2.85% chance of finding a cat, and since there are a lot (23) cat villagers only a 0.12% chance of finding Raymond.

This means that you're going to have about a one in 850 chance to get him, but that doesn't mean you're going to get him in 850 tickets - it's like rolling a dice, you'd expect to roll a 1 about once every 6 rolls but sometimes it takes much longer because previous rolls do not affect it.

Some people will get him within ten tickets, and others will spend 2000 and get unlucky. Chance is a wild thing!

I'm not sure about the Amiibo cards - I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did make some cards less common for that one, because more card sales directly equals more money there. :D
