We are SUPPOSED to have that but the government doesn't follow the Consitution. :gyroidsurprised: And I don't even mean only stuff like torture and privacy rights... by the 10th Amendment, every federal government agency and program is illegal. It has to be written in the Constitution. Department of Homeland Security which Bush created... Department of Energy, Carter created... illegal, the war on drugs... illegal, etc.
Some people try to say that the Constitution can be loosely interrupted. But the 10th Amendment and the overall Bill of Rights is quite clear. The governments job is only to protect life, liberty, property. So any mob that tries to infringe on that... government should stop. But what happens when the government itself does that like today?
We no longer have a legitimate form of government because it does not follow the Consitution. Awwww, I love John Locke.
This has happened because... well to be frank... stupid people have elected stupid politicians and somebody needs to wake them up to what has happened. I was asleep just a year ago too, so I'm not saying I'm any way superior (lol).
Well actually I think the tenth amendment was made in a way to allow the government to run programs if it was heavily scrutinized. I mean getting 2/3s vote is pretty tough to do on anything.
Yes they can be scared into stuff but if it is really something unwanted it shouldn't be able to get through.
Personally I think somethings are better kept out of the hands of corporations, but that doesn't mean I am right I know. But I like public transportation, or our postal system. Somethings are ridiculous and made specifically to destroy rights like the war on drugs. Prohibiting use of drugs so people have the right to be away from them is one thing but attacking what people do in their own house is another. The key is responsibility, and it shouldn't be the governments.
