So I bought a glitched Monster Statue on ebay... for science...

I'm curious! Did you worry there may have been any risk to your own game data in purchasing this and setting it up in your town? That's what I would have been afraid of! Or did you perhaps use this on a spare switch/island of yours?

I was nervous. That being said it was given as a trade with someone visiting my island. So no harm no foul to my actual Switch. And the person had a lot of high ratings over a period of time so if it was something that would happen he would've at least gotten some amount of negative reviews.

my guess might be that they actually customized the statue (can you do that? i think not?) through hacking or something of the sort with a pattern they made themselves. because you don't have that same exact pattern, the game might just grab what is in your custom pattern slot for that? i know customized things with your own patterns aren't trade-able, but if it's hacked anyway, it might just ignore all other values. no idea, though. might just be an f up.

If I wasn't paranoid about my file, I'd love a collection of incredibly cursed animal crossing objects

It looks like the texture is the same as the clothes you are wearing because of the values. Or it could be an error with the items value or coding.

You should take pictures of it using the switch, not your phone. You'll get a much better image that way.

I thought those were mouths on his body at first, super cursed. The final form of Shin Godzilla right here.

If the texture are linked with whatever you're wearing, it would be interesting to see how he'd look with the dreamy sweater texture or if it also takes custom designs, how cool would it be to customize it to actually look like any variate of Godzilla.
