I know this sounds extreme, but they should try and evac as many people as possible from there. Who knows if another one will strike? It was already hell over there, now it's worse.
It's actually not that rare to have another earth quake after a major one. It's called aftershock.
I really do feel bad for these people =/ they didn't even have it that great BEFORE the earthquakes, now the living conditions are just terrible. But it would be unrealistic to evacuate everyone from Haiti. Earthquakes happen and you can't avoid them. All they can do is first take care of everyone and then when they rebuild the city make the buildings more durable.
It's like a big middle finger at them. Like someone else said here, they need to be evacuated from there from future earthquakes.
My teacher was actually talking about how D.R. and Haiti are very close, yet nothing happens to D.R.
Not good with geography so I don't know how that works :/
