Well i think that if we spent the rediculous price of $250 (or however much it was four years ago) that we should be entitled to mess around with it. Within reason, of course. For example, no piracy. But i see nothing wrong with texture hacking or exploiting in-game secrets.
But the problem with that is that the same tool that is used for texture hacks and such (the Homebrew Channel) is also used for piracy. So in order to stop piracy, they have to get rid of the Homebrew Channel.
Well Nintendo being greedy deserves the piracy it gets. As far as updates to delete the homebrew channel there is ways around that. Read a few pages ago. Still on 3.2 with all the newest games too.
How is Nintendo being greedy? Well, greedier than any other company, that is. You just like to get stuff handed to you for free. >_>

And as for the Homebrew Channel, I don't care if it gets removed from my Wii or not. I haven't updated yet (I'm on 4.2 right now), but if hackers aren't able to find a workaround for the Homebrew Channel in 4.3 by the time I have to use the Wii Shop Channel next or when a game with the 4.3 update on it comes out, then I'll just let it go. I rarely use it anyway. Just for texture hacking, but I can live without that.

@ Future of Zion:

Were you a My Nintendo(nowadays Club Nintendo) Member at the time? If so, you might of been required to register the Gamecube to activate your System Waranty extension. I wasn't a Member at the time so I'm kind of asking a half-ignorant question and speculation.

That kind of sucks that your Gamecube died. :(

Well its only stupid if you get caught. I think you have been missing what I am saying. I have at least a total of $3500 worth of virtual console, wiiware, and REAL WII games that I did not pay for. And a few pages ago I have made it clear that I don't mind stealing from Nintendo cause of the gamecube situation with me. I bet you are thinking yeah posting my exploits on a public forum that can ]About the Gamecube, you didn't really make a clear explanation about your problems with your Gamecube. I know it's about waranties but, what about it?
As far as the gamecube answer it's long since in the trash. They denied an extended warranty plan I purchased at wal-mart even though it was well with the time frame specified when I had paperwork in hand. They denied it because I had never registered the extended warranty only the regular but yet I had the paperwork to prove it. The gamecube had died.
How the hell did your GameCube die?! My GameCube has been punched, kicked, dropped, and thrown down stairs, and it still runs like a charm.

I guess that some Gamecubes are indestructible and some can be smashed by just sitting on it.

Kind of random, but does anyone remember this?

Yes and yes.

My Gamecube is probably stronger than a brick. It's been dropped so many times, yet it still functions like it was new.

I remember that too. That makes me laugh everytime I see it.

Nintendo Is like Apple when it comes to what YOU can do with YOUR device. Sure, they may not WANT you to do it, and may try and TRICK you to THINK it's illegal, when it's PERFECTLY LEGAL, which most other companies don't work as hard as they do to stop it, because YOU bought it, it's not NINTENDO'S PROPERTY! IT'S YOURS. YOU CAN DO AS YOU LIKE. Sure, they can try to make you update with saying *this game won't run* but you can easily patch that, install the certain update files (which is 100% legal to do btw, but this isn't the place to be talking about it).I say that if someone buys something, they can do whatever they decide to do with it. BTW: Running pirated games isn't the big issue on the legality, it's getting them and downloading them, Tyeforce.

Neither Nintendo nor Apple have ever said that it's illegal to do such things as install the Homebrew Channel on your Wii or jailbreak your iPhone. Both of those are perfectly legal (though they're against the terms of use that you agreed to upon purchasing the product, which is why it will void your warrantee), and neither company will tell you that they aren't. But they are doorways to piracy, which is illegal. That's why they have to make an attempt to close those doorways. And running pirated software is just as illegal as downloading it. You can't run it without having downloaded it first, anyway, so no matter how you put it, you're still doing something illegal.

More like king of off topic! I went back and read that Wiiheaven person's threads and see why he/she raged on like that. It looked like he/she was doing fine until some members came along and got jealous because he/she knew how to hack. His response was wrong but I at least see why he/she did it. Fellow hacker I wish I could get in touch with actually.

As far as calling him/her and others noobs. Maybe we all need to learn the definition of noob before we use it. See the ]http://www.internetslang.com/NOOB.asp[/url]

What is there to believe? I am just commenting on what I see and how noob gets misused. Confusion?

Looks like Coma has his hand on the lock button as well. It's amazing how quickly things can get off topic on tbt. Thanks nook (days ago but still wasn't on to respond) Just as tbt was starting to make me think things have changed.

I actually like that site you posted because it keeps you knowledgable of Internet terms and slangs so that would be a great site for every new member to look at every once in awhile. ^_^
