Saw stag???

Hello friends, i have been trying to catch a saw stag for a few days now and it is IMPOSSIBLE??? Is there a secret I am missing because according to my calculations, it is 100% not even remotely possible. Looking for advice so i don’t lose my mind.

Oh I'm not sure then I dont time travel so I'm not sure about the other spawns for future months.

Update if anyone is having the same issue. I believe the “secret” is that they have a defense posture of opening their jaws and bending backwards slightly, and you cannot move while they are in that position or they will flee.

I read somewhere that it's better to not "sneak up" (hold down A) on it. I had a world of trouble catching one, and in the end I ended up walking normal pace towards it before swinging and that was the only thing that worked lol.

Someone was saying it had to be a glitch, but I'm not sure. All I know is don't try to sneak up on it, because it will fly off
