Kabosu, Shiba Inu Who Helped Define the Doge Meme, Dies at 18

The dog, whose face helped spread the popular doge meme and later became the logo of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency, died on Friday.

So I just saw this news article and I thought it would be a good idea to share it with you all. Today on Friday, Kabosu, also known as "Doge" by the internet because of the memes, passed away.

May Kabosu rest in peace...

I was so devastated to wake up to this news. It’s bittersweet how animals you’ve never even personally met can still mean so much to you and have a place in your heart. It brings me comfort to know that Kabosu was so obviously loved and well taken care of, beyond her internet fame. The average lifespan for Shiba Inus is 12-15 years, so Kabosu making it to 18 is remarkable and such a gift.

She lived a long, happy life, and got to pass peacefully at home with her family by her side. No amount of time with our fur babies is ever enough, but I’m grateful that sweet baby got to go as peacefully as she did, and experience all the love she did. Sending all the love in the world to her family. Rest in peace, Kabosu.
