Firstly yay, so glad to have this feature now!! My question - I noticed it says it's only for if you've lost or damaged your Switch, why is this please? And what about if someone got a new Switch, like if they wanted to get a different colour/model? Surely Nintendo would be happy with people just wanting to buy a new console for the h*ll of it even if the old one is functional? Is it maybe to do with them only wanting/allowing it to be played on one console at a time (eg if you have a Switch and a Switch lite you can't/aren't meant to play the same island on both)?

Anyway just curious, shouldn't affect me regardless just interested to know! And so happy to be able to back up :D Please and thanks for any help!!

my assumption is that you can port it over by downloading the cloud save file through the system. Assuming this is the process with a lost/stolen switch when you replace it.
