First of all I'd like to address that I may or may not have been the first person to find this. If I am not, then credits to the person who found it but I've never heard anyone speak of this method before.

Have you ever gotten so tired of doing the diving trick or whatever for 5 minutes and spending days getting just like 4 PwP's? Well luckily for you I came up with a method to speed up the process and get you the PwP of your liking in your dream town!

The Theory
On the day that a villager is scheduled to move out, (Hey X, I want to leave our town, etc.) you have essentially 4-6 days until the day BEFORE they move (if you LIKE the villager) to get as many PwP suggestions as possible. The game is programmed to have someone PING you to say or suggest something. As long as the "mover" villager is thinking about moving, you can have others PING you. If the "mover" villager PINGs you, just press home and quit without saving and repeat the process (avoid the "mover). When someone PINGs you to suggest something, Save and quit and REPEAT the process until you get tired of it. If you LIKE you villager and when you're done basically letting others suggest the PwP's or whatever, REMEMBER I REPEAT REMEMBER TO LET THE "MOVER" PING YOU AND CONVINCE THEM TO STAY BEFORE THE MOVING DAY. I've already gotten about 6 PwP's (Two streetlamps, Pyramid, Moai statue, Parabolic antenna, Electric sign thing that jocks suggest).

Helpful tips
- Rather than having an empty inventory, fill up your inventory with "USELESS" items like flowers, pitfall seeds, and unidentified fossils to the max capacity.
- The amount of money doesn't matter as long as you have less than 99k
- Avoid the mover until you've checked all of you villagers, if you go up the the mover and they PING you, it's because they're going to ask to move away. Once the mover PINGs you, press home and quit without saving and repeat the process
- Check what day the mover is actually going to be IN BOXES to avoid them moving away and convince him/her to stay
- Know your limit, do not spend a whole day doing this, but I know a lot of people will
- 100% Guaranteed that someone will PING you for something but not for PwPs, if someone just PINGs you to do a request or say something random that villagers usually do, just press home and repeat until you get a request.

Hope this helps! I don't think anyone has thought of this method rather than the diving method!

EDIT: If you have any questions please ask! :)

This may or may not be the most confusing thing i have ever read.

I'm sorry I didn't word it correctly AT ALL.
I'll explain it in short.

The game is programmed to have a villager PING you to move out every 4-6 days.
However, it doesn't necessarily have to be the mover to PING you to move, it could be a completely different villager to ask for a request, talk about random things, or suggest a PwP.

You can essentially make sure to keep getting PwP suggestions as long as you keep the villager from having the pending thing about moving.

I hope I kind of cleared it up...

It sounds REALLY complicated but it really isn't. I've had 2 more suggestions, the Preppy villager bell and archway sculpture since I've posted this thread.
It doesn't take as much time as the diving method, and you won't get the "individual" title from your villagers which is a good thing

So, a villager has to be wanting to move out, right?
I think I understood most of that xD
time to go TT until someone wants to leave so I can get some PWPs ;)

A theory is an idea yet to be tested/proven, so how can it be a theory if it "(ACTUALLY WORKS!)"?

tbh I would never try this, I'm not really desperate for PWP and would rather have them suggested through my normal means of gameplay, but if it does actually work then it's pretty neat

Or alternatively you can throw on a wetsuit, get stung by a jelly fish and walk in front of a villager.

All I know is that when I was looking into the future to see which hybrids would spawn the next day (by changing time and creating a new villager) every time I logged in again with my mayor to reset the hybrid I sometimes got a ping with a project suggestion. In the entire process I may have gotten 4 projects within 1 hour, from different villagers. No one was planning to move out.

Merengue asked me to move today (i denied) so let's try this!

If I'm reading it right, it won't work if you denied. When she asked to move, you should have quit without saving and then gone back in and avoided her. Then you would let the others ping you until you're ready to stop her and try again with the next moving villager.

I don't totally get it, and I'm afraid to play chicken with a villager I like and moving.

I'm not completely sure how this works... So, from what I did understand, having someone want to move out means someone has to ping you if they haven't told you they want to move out yet, right? But I'm pretty sure I've had times where I'd heard from other villagers that someone wanted to move out, and yet no one would ping me about anything.

I dunno, maybe I forgot something, or I'm just confused.

since it requires a villager asking to move (and genji left yesterday) I think I'll stick to the diving trick xD

I think I'll stick to the wetsuit trick rather than some mere theory that said to "actually work". It hasn't been fully proven, thus, it cannot be said it actually works.

Think of it like trying to spawn specific types of beetles in the Island when bug hunting for bells. The idea is to decrease the pool a person will ping you for by one (move-out pings) and it saving you a couple minutes from the wetsuit trick. It's something, but I doubt it is much of an improvement.

100% Guaranteed that someone will PING you for something but not for PwPs, if someone just PINGs you to do a request or say something random that villagers usually do, just press home and repeat until you get a request.
This part needs to be reworded or something. It sounds like you're saying that "people will ping you for non-PWP related things, 100% of the time, guaranteed". It should be "You won't be guaranteed to getting only PWPs pings." <<< Which is still the same thing with wetsuit trick anyway.

So idk if I'm understanding right, but like when you cycle and look for villagers to move out and wait for one to ping you, you run in front of all the other villagers too (previous to finding the one who wants to move out), but I haven't noticed a huge increase in PWP suggestions. Wouldn't that essentially work the same way? Just wondering.

This would be more helpful with like literal step by step instructions.
Step 1 - load game
Step 2 - find person who wants to move
Step 3 - quit without saving and avoid that person
Step 4 - go find all other villagers
Step 5 - what if no one pings? Quit without saving or quit with saving or skip a day??? I have no idea! Lol

Sounds like a neat trick but I need the "for dummies" version xD

It's simply saying:

1. Load onto character and walk around town.
- If the mover pings you, reset without saving.

2. Have a non-moving villager ping you.
- If it's not PWP, reset and try again.

3. Rinse and repeat until you get PWP.
- Remember to save each time you get PWP pings.

Ohhhh I finally get it. Thanks for explaining, I'll try it soon :)

I think I'm getting what OP's saying.

...But if the mover was going to move out anyway, what difference does it make?
You're saying to have a situation with someone wanting to move, and then take pings from everyone except that person, right?

So say I've got Wolfgang thinking of moving, I'll avoid Wolfgang and walk in front of Merry - if she pings, and if it's not a PWP request, I reset, walk in front of her again to get a different type of ping. Is that correct?

But if that's what you're saying to do, all that does is reduce the number of villagers you're talking to by one. You'll still be getting all the same kinds of ping from everyone else, whether they're PWP pings or other stuff.
Surely it would be just as good if not better to accept the mover's ping, turn them down, save, then do the whole resetting thing with every villager as an option. If Wolfgang's move request gets turned down, nobody else is going to ask about moving that day anyway, so if Wolfgang subsequently pings it could be a PWP request as well.

Eh, that's not true about it being programmed to have someone move out every 4-6 days. Merengue asked me one day and the next, grizzly asked. Then merengue asked me again on the next day.
