I could definitely use some help straitening and choosing my team for desert island.
the current team i've been using is Plucky, Diana, Savannah.
Plucky goes first to sniff out the items, then Diana goes next. Since she's soft-footed I feel more confident using her on spaces plucky couldn't reach. Then Savannah, the hearty traveler, goes wherever the other 2 don't get to.
This team works pretty well for the most part, however I have been having trouble getting the high scores in normal mode.
I actually used the same combination as you for a while! I used Daisy/Isabelle, Fuchsia and Blanche, but I found that the sniff em ability was not very helpful to me. Currently, after trying a bunch of different characters, I have found that a combination of Koala, Deer and Ostrich gives me a really large movepool for a small amount of food.
Alice the Koala- Whimsy
Pros: The ability whimsy can give you 7 moves each turn, which is really good, and though the first times I used this character I was skeptical bc of the chance of getting no moves at all, I almost always get her to walk! In an intermediate map she usually gets 0 steps only once, twice at most (this rarely happens to me). Whimsies are also REALLY strong. They can easily beat up creatures without a slinghot, and they only need 1 ration per day.
Cons: Well, the probablility of wasting a whole turn is kinda scary and it can mess up your plans. I try to put her first so I can plan my strategy around her willingness to participate lol.
Fuchsia the Deer- Soft Footed
Pros: Deers have 5 moves in a turn, and they can try to escape foes before fighting them, and I've had like 4 successful sneak-away streaks with this girl, its pretty handy. Fuchsia is great for navigating beaches bc her favourite fruits are coconuts, so you can loot a great amount of fruit in each turn with her, and as koalas, deers only need one ration of food each day.
Cons: Deers have limited vision (1 square) and when they fail to sneak away from the creatures you get no escape option, you have to fight them. And deers are not very strong.
Blanche the Ostrich- Hearty Traveler
Pros: She gives you a solid 6 move turn, quite a distance compared to other animals, and she only requires a ration each day.
Cons: She's blind. You will navigate foggy areas without knowing what is around you or where are you going. Also, she has a really hard time getting out of holes.
With this team I tend to get a large food surplus and I navigate areas quicker than with other combinations!
