Hi! I'd like to build a campsite, but I've heard that it shows up bigger when there's someone in it - can anyone confirm how many squares it takes up when its empty, and when there's someone there? And does it fill up the extra squares at the front, back, left, or right? If that makes sense?

if anyone has screenshots of it occupied and empty that would be really helpful - but any help would be really appreciated! Sorry for so many questions, just worried I'll position it somewhere and change my mind.. Thank you in advance :)

It's a myth, or you may have misinterpreted it. It shows up bigger vertically.

If you have a path directly in front of the campsite, it will be deleted when the campsite is occupied. I think it's only the three tiles directly in front of the campsite (it's 3 spaces wide). If you feel like it, you can lay the path back down after the camper leaves and it'll stay until the next time a camper arrives.

Well thats uh

kinda dumb

Do you know if flowers would go to the lost and found if space is available, or just disappear forever?

No, after the path disappeared, I just automatically stopped my line of flowers at either side of the campsite. I wouldn't mind testing it out with flowers I don't need (or red and white roses, which are easy to replace), but I haven't.

Put trees around it. You're camping in the woods, not in the street's gutter.
