I have overexposed other users to a Ghost and Molly McGee spoiler, and that is when Molly becomes a ghost at the end of Season 1.

But there’s an even bigger spoiler at the end of Season 2, but that I’m not going to bring up.

Still have the scrapbook to do, not look the best, but im just glad im getting around to do it. I am gonna have such a grand break after Friday

Yep, I’m back with some more similar sounding songs. Here, it’s only the intros that really sound similar. There’s one from Kirby Air Ride, and two Smash Melee songs. Coincidentally (or not), they’re all GameCube games who Sakurai worked on. But I’m pretty sure he’s not a music composer, so I don’t think that has anything to do with it. (Something that might have been less coincidental is that Kirby Air Ride has two songs (Green Greens and Fountain of Dreams) that are Kirby songs in Melee, sounding extremely similar besides that Melee’s ones sound slightly more orchestral. You probably wouldn’t even notice unless they were side by side)

I haven’t played this game but I wonder what a drag race is in this context. Out of context, it sounds like something else

I think my cat just wants me to be there while she does stuff. She'll meow at me till I follow her to the food bowl, even when it's full. If I stay long enough, she'll start eating. Same thing with the litter box - She'll lead me to it even when it's clean, and she'll start using it once I'm in the room. It's actually kinda cute. 😭

If my counting is correct, I've listened to a total of 35 full albums, going on 36. It doesn't sound like a lot to me, so I think I'll try to bring that number up to 100 by the end of this year. Last time I made a goal like this I completed it two weeks later (it was the beginning of January, mind you), so I hope 100 is feasible.

Now that I think about it, I should really get back to listening to the rest of Korn's discography. I kinda avoided their later albums after "Take a Look in the Mirror" and "See You on the Other Side", which were pretty meh compared to their earlier stuff.

The biggest pet peeves of mine when it comes to games localization is the fact that they left out the important plot points or change up the characterization of that one character.

Splatoon for example, In Splatoon 2, Mr. Grizz in the localized English version and the original Japanese version are very different characters. It was not until Splatoon 3 that Mr. Grizz was more in line with the Japanese version due to the plot importance in the hero mode (Alterna). Octo Expansion in the localized English version left out the reason why Commander Tartar wanted to wipe out the current species (to create a perfect species or species that resemble humanity, but feel free to correct me on that).

Fire Emblem is one of the biggest examples of this, with FE: Fates being dubbed one of the "worst localizations" in Fire Emblem games.

Is that the one where the localizers changed multiple pages of a ninja characters dialog to "..."?

Localizers have been pitching a fit lately on twitter, over people that don't like the changes they make
That was hugely expected out of "localizers" who spent most of their time on Twitter and not doing their job as translators properly. The worst part is that they sometimes inject their "politics" in a game/show/manga that doesn't hold the same values as the West (That infamous dubbed version of the Dragon Maid scene about fashion for example.) and it deviates from the original author's intent. All we've asked for is proper translation from the original author's intent in writing that said media.

Have you been spectating as well? One of the localizers did let it slip that most script adapters don't speak Japanese.

I don't think it's the same scene you're talking about, but I remember hearing about another translation controversy from that show. Iirc another girl was hitting on the main character (also a woman), and the MC in the original responded with "but I'm a woman", which just shows that she's confused by another girl flirting with her... and then the English dub made her outright say she wasn't into women?? 😭 like bro you didn't "fix" it, you actually made it LESS gay. what are you DOING

But yeah, translation isn't about whether or not I agree with the viewpoints a character expresses or not (which may or may not even be the same viewpoints as the writer's!!), I just want it conveyed to me as accurately as possible, so I can form my own feelings on the scene/character/story. I can't do that if I'm basically reading AU fanfic.
