Hello John~
I'm not 100% sure on this as I'm a newer player.
Once a fruit tree has been harvested so many time's it'll leave just the trunk.

Was it a perfect fruit tree John? I think they only harvest a few times, then die. That could be it

Good morning Animal Crossing friends!
Woke up... Did a bit of town maintenance... And DUG UP a nice hedge plant because I forgot the shovel was in my hand instead of the watercan!
Ugg!
I've done this far too many times. It's worse when it's a cherished hybrid. (Gulp)
I really am getting old... (smile)

I restarted my son's town earlier tonight. Took like 2 hours of resetting to find a map I liked plus tolerable villagers and grass/fruit that I didn't have with my original town. It's been fun going back and doing everything again. I forgot what it was like to be broke, haha. I still need to create my sons' characters so they can do things like play on the island with me, since that's really all they like to do. I've been catching bugs and fish for awhile (and managed to catch a bee!!). I can't wait until I unlock more stuff so I can start landscaping and making my town all pretty (I don't TT) . Have a great day/night everyone!

I don't time travel either. I'm truly considering doing exactly what you have done.... yet bringing over a bit of resources from my "other" town (smile).

No, his town was only maybe a week and a half old and while I usually played for him, I wasn't attached to any of the villagers. I wanted a "re-do" since my town map sucks and I put some of the permanent PWPs in really awkward places. I'll still play my original town daily but there's really not much to do I just couldn't reset it because I have so many dreamies, tons of hybrid flowers and like 40 million bells. I'm mainly still playing that town to complete the museum and get the rest of the obtainable badges.

Just don't run on flowers or pick up anything I don't okay to be picked up, lol!
I hope that's old enough. ^^ I much prefer older crowds, easier to deal with for me.
Just as a side note, I suffer from severe anxiety, horrid memory, and dyslexia, so if I come across as off, I'm horribly sorry. I'm most likely just having a bad day. I feel like this should be mentioned beforehand!

Wow... 40 Mill (heh heh heh). Dreamies... that's desired furniture you have acquired?, or contacts that use the "dreaming" option?
I haven't delved into the dreaming thing yet. I do have a dream address, but I really know little about it, or it's benefits.
My immediate concern is GRACIE!! She's here tugging at ma coat-tails wanting me to dress MODERN by the end of the day.
I Googled "Modern" stuff, and I don't have any of those clothes. Boo hoo hoo.... (I want to get the Gracie store so I can spend 40 mil dressing up ... right? heh heh heh heh). Yeah... I'd like her shop in my store.
I'm going to post the MODERN stuff to see if anyone has some of the items I can borrow for the day.... just to present to Gracie that I really really am a modern type of Guy. Wonder what I'll have to be next?.... grin.

Dreamies are just dream villagers. The ones you really want in your town, haha. In my original town, all but 3 of my villagers are dreamies. I started with Lucky in my new town, who I've wanted for ages! Do post some modern stuff and I'll see if I have anything. I have tons of clothing saved in my letters plus a pretty big catalog so maybe I can help you out.

Here's something interesting...
After my "Gracie" research, it seemed that some people got furniture when they passed the Gracie test. If you had at least one item, you passed with a tank top of sorts. Have three, and you got furniture... and... you could address Gracie throughout the day.
Here's what I found...
I had the:
Shoes
Hat
Glasses
Shirt
All that I lacked was the skirt... which in this MODERN focus, was only one option, a Polka Skirt.
Being the man I am, I forwent the "skirt" (didn't want to catch a cold with the breeze that is common to such.... ah... atire?)
Anyhoo.... All I got was a "You obviously don't' have any focus, but you tried, so I'll give you this", and it was a tee of sorts.
Humm...
I tried addressing her again, and all she said was that the chances of her opening up a shop dramatically increased during this visit.
This told me:
1. The visit is to climb higher on the "shop opening" ladder.
2. It wouldn't have mattered if I had a few items, or almost all the items... still got the tank top with hat, glasses, shirt, shoes. Granted, I didn't have all the items.
What was more interesting was the comment that I didn't have the focus. Odd... heh heh.
Oh well... THAT leg of the Animal Crossing's adverture is completed for the day. Thank you everyone for your support and your help.

Glad you passed, John! I had some stuff to help but it was storming here and my Internet connection was acting funny. I couldn't get this site to load at all for awhile. I don't have access to a computer after one of my kids spilled something on my laptop and fried it. I'm stuck using my phone.
