I'm glad this topic exists. I see merch of them everywhere. I was at a Dutch amusement park last month and I think I saw about 23 people with Minions merchandise.
I hate it how Minions get much more attention than the main character gets. I mean, I don't like the movie Despicable Me but it's sad to see that comic-relief characters get way more attention than the main characters get.
I would rather see Mr. Meeseeks as minions because they resemble them in almost every form and are tons better than those yellow bananas.

They have always annoyed me, and I find their design very poor.
Plus, I own a corgi and I'm so sick and tired of hearing "OMG IT'S THE DOG FROM THE MINIONS MOVIE" all day every day.

Honestly the only thing that most people dislike about the minions is that the movies are so popular that they're everywhere now. You can see the same thing with Frozen. It used to be considered a good movie, but now that it's gone viral (thanks 8 year old girls!) everyone 'hates' it since they have seen way to much of it. You can't really blame Universal for capitalising on the success of its franchise, but it IS a little bit annoying seeing it everywhere nowadays.
