A fan-made LEGO set based on Animal Crossing's Nook's Cranny shop is being officially reviewed by the company as part of its LEGO Ideas campaign.

As you may be aware, the LEGO Ideas website allows fans to submit their very own designs for approval. If a design gets 10,000 votes from the community, it's automatically put forward for review by LEGO and can end up being a real product found on store shelves–the designer can enjoy 1% of the royalties, too.

The Nook's Cranny design, inspired by the store's appearance in Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Switch, is one of a whopping 35 Ideas that have made it through for review. Both the inside and outside are fully kitted out, and there's even a Villager Minifigure sporting the classic 'number 1' t-shirt.

"As a fan of Animal Crossing, I have wanted to do a build from the game," says the design's creator, Micro_Model_Maker. "I have seen a lot of house builds from the game so I have decided to do Nook's Cranny to shake things up a bit. The build features an interior; I tried to get it as close to the game as possible but due to size I have had to move some things around, however I believe it captures the spirit".

this would look really good, and i know collectors would love this.

kinda doubt this would happen, or if licensing would even work out, but that model is really neatly designed.

i know it's really been a hot topic around here that other companies, or crossovers, or generally other establishments/people using animal crossing to self-promote leaves a bad taste for some, but personally i don't see it in that perspective. it doesn't bother me that ac is going mainstream. i think this is different from those other situations though, because both companies would benefit from this.

They would need to get the permission of Nintendo and the niche would be so small compared to their Mario lineup. I can see them wanting to try to market Zelda before AC. If they act now, they can probably ride the popularity due to the Covid-shutdown drawing so many fans/non-fans, but if they act too late it won't sell as well. Plus they have to take in consideration when this wave dies down will they be stuck with a surplus?

I think it looks awesome, but Mario/Zelda is more well known than Animal Crossing.

true that. the amount of people playing acnh as it is is already plummeting.

That is absolutely adorable 😍 sadly no young children to give Lego to but what an amazing Christmas pressie 💕

I have yet to buy an Animal Crossing merchandise. Unfortunately, my country doesn't sell them! :(

The closest that I can find is Amiibo figurines but I want something like this!

I see this differently from other crossovers. LEGO has always done sets from movies, games etc. Would totally buy it if it was sold in my country!

I would absolutely buy this but I'm terrible at building things. I would love a little model of anything from NH in general! More official merch to me just means getting to see more of my fav game in daily life in stores and stuff. I'd love if more people had access to cool AC stuff!

I need this in my life. I used to love legos when I was younger, so I hope it becomes available!

This is really cool, I'd even love a full LEGO line based on AC. I haven't bought Legos since I wasa kid but I'd probably an AC one.

I feel like this is different from companies using AC to self-promote. This would be officially licensed merch and through a company that is really well-known, so it's not like companies launching campaigns in-game or anything.

WOOOWW I would totally buy this, me and my brothers all collect legos, this would be totally awesome even if I wouldn't play with it (I hardly play with legos anymore lol. Used to all the time, though)

I could definitely see this happening. ACNH IS dropping in popularity at the moment... but I imagine it'll pick up again when the new update releases. Especially if Nintendo decides to release something really neat as part of it. But even if they just do the Halloween event, from my experience, ANY game becomes busier/more popular surrounding Halloween events.
And it's not like Nintendo is opposed to Lego sets, since they already have Mario ones.

And, if they do it and it does well, I imagine an Able Sister's, Roost, Museum, etc. could be yet to come 😉

We would lol even to buy this! It would be better if they have multiple sets for different buildings!

This is so adorable my goodness, I hope they just make a whole town at this point!
