Discuss. Everyone should be sad and know that a huge country that's currently dying from political corruption affected our dear gaming community. Say bye-bye to 75% of south america ;_;

Wow that really sucks. Sorry about that :( :(

So you like..can't get any Nintendo games AT ALL now? :o

Nope. Only some E-Shop 3DS Titles, but no wii u gems for me. Guess it's time to say goodbye to smash and start playing...
playstation all farts

Sadly, Nin's Eshop has never even opened here. so, there is no way, because of their derpy country restriction games things.

I see. Well I hope you can order online then or get them someway or the other...

I'm wondering if Brazilians could import Nintendo games from United States and Canada without paying an exorbitant amount of money, because that would be the only option to enjoy Nintendo games at this point.

Still, it's quite a shame that Nintendo abandoned the video game market of Brazil just because the government managed to make it unprofitable with its ridiculously high prices and taxes ($1600 for a PS4 anyone?) despite having quite a lot of gamers out there.

I think since you're probably using an American 3DS, you can make up the location to somewhere in US so that you will have access to the US eShop and you just source out an eShop card online. Works even when you're outside US, I can confirm since my country is not officially supported by Nintendo, but I have access to the US eShop. You just need a US Address to put there.

Hate to be the possible bearer of bad news, but isn't Brazil part of the PAL region? Because in that case, in order to play games from North America, a North American 3DS would also have to be imported. I'm not sure how much the PAL standards for TV are applied to handheld consoles.

Brazil is in a sad situation. I hope it improves soon, not only so you can play your games, but also so you can live in a country that takes care of its people.

That sucks, but couldn't you still get them imported from other online stores that aren't direct from Nintendo?

You make it sound like Nintendo abandoned the market over a small issue. They may want to get their games to as many people as possible but they're still a business. Being unprofitable because of stupidly high taxes is a major hurdle.

I'm sorry. D: All I can say is be patient.
I doubt patience is gonna fix corruption, lol.
It's going to take at least a few years for Brazil to get fixed. Nintendo made a tough decision here, but honestly, I hope other companies follow suit. If so much support is taken away from Brazil, maybe the people in power would start thinking differently. Of course, things would get worse for the people at first, but hopefully it would improve for them in the long run.

That's looking at it very optimistically though.

I thought Brazil was PAL too (EU 3DS).

I buy some of my games online from UK as its much cheaper than buying here in New Zealand. Maybe you can consider that.

Yeah the issue was something like Ninty was sending them games and they were taxing like $1MIL b/cos brazil wanted Ninty to establish an HQ in brazil which would have costed Ninty lots of $$$ and was a hit or miss

either way it was a lose-lose situation

Hopefully this issue will end soon for you guys.

Everybody needs to play Nintendo games. :c

I was telling them to be patient about their situation. Because, face it. It'll take way more than them to fix anything at all. Because I honestly didn't want to outright say that they couldn't really do anything about what was going on themselves. As you said, it's going to take a bit to even fix this, hence it will take more than what the OP could possibly do. I think this is the type of situation where it's out of Ops hands and all they could really do is wait it out possibly.
