How so?Seriously, I low key think they threw ethnic cultures under the bus.
JMO.
I think the textures for the dreads look great, but why is the afro so tall and round??
I like them, but if I use them I'll be considered inconsiderate or something or other on social medias because of their ethnic backgrounds.. :/
Regardless, I'm thrilled they added these types of hairstyles.
Wear them if you like them, no matter what anyone else says.![]()

Considering how ruthless people can be on social media about ethnics, etc, and the fact I've been on the receiving end before a few years ago... I'll pass.
I can imagine but honestly, just ignore those posts or social media about that kind of stuff. But because of everything that's being said about them on social media, I'm avoiding using them.
omfg this is so cuteI love the buns ! I've always wanted that hairstyle irl but could never do it so to have in acnh is amazing ! Look at him ! View attachment 336956
I feel like nintendo tried to just add hair styles that are the epitome of basic to please the majority. But since people are able to be vocal due to social media, people with textured hair were like "HELLO my hair doesnt look like that". I dont think nintendo did it to be malicious, but hopefully in the future they make a better effort to be reminded there are lots of people that have super textured hair.Honestly it's a littttttle disappointing to me that poc had to WAIT months into the game being released to finally get some accurate representation with hairstyles imo, but I guess better late than never. Would have been nice to have some default poc hairstyles
I understand this but the fact is they aren't the only people with hairstyles like these historically. People need to leave other people's bodies alone period. Including businesses who want to dictate people's hair. And No one should be criticized that they aren't __whatever here__ enough to wear __whatever here__.
this may be a little off-topic so sorry in advance, but this tweet showed up on my timeline this morning and I think it offers some important hindsight on why black people can be so defensive and protective of their hair. when your feelings get hurt because someone says you shouldn't use a hairstyle in a video game, remember that black people got segregated because of that hair, and remember that even today black people can't get jobs because of their hair, and that many black women feel forced to go through the harmful process of relaxing their hair or painstakingly applying wigs in order to conform to white standards,
