I'm trying to get my dreamies in my village. I want the unwanted ones out. I've heard it is hard to get one to move in New Leaf but does anyone have any good advice for it to happen more likely?

Probably the easiest way is to use the amiibo scan piece/or the New 3DS-XL. If you have 10 villagers already, Wisp will tell you there are too many, but ask who do you want to move in return? They always move out from my experience. Just keep scrolling through the 'Ask another villager to move out' until you find the one you want out. It doesn't matter if they came to the town last or whenever.

Of course, this only works if you have the villagers cards on hand, who you want to move in.

This Is amazing but be warned from my experience at least they might move into the same spot the previous villager was in.

If you don't have cards or anything Just talk to them everyday like any other villager, The better bond you have the more likely they'll be the one to move out I've heard, And lately that's what I've been doing so it works great for me.

I know being rude and ignoring the villagers doesn't work to move them out quicker, but seriously? Being nice to them and becoming great friends makes them want to leave? Good logic Nintendo lol.

But yeah, be warned like Prisma said. You can avoid that by setting paths everywhere but where you want the villagers to actually go. And or to place some temporary pwps in the places you're very certain you don't want anyone.

It kinda makes sense from a programming standpoint; higher relationship = higher chance of a villager pinging you (ie: actively wanting to speak to you, which makes sense since you don't wanna seek out mean people) and then pure RNG is what decides whether it's a move-out as opposed to say, a PWP unlock or greeting change.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I don't have a scanner or a card so I can't do that, but I think ill try the ignore technique and the talking a lot technique.what is the max villagers you can have? I can't remember anymore lol

Ooh, I never thought about it this way... I thought that the "higher the friendship the higher the chances of them moving" thing was to encourage the player to befriend a lot of different animals... if they're in their town but not befriended, they would stay longer... like a Pok?mon gotta catch them all thing. x)

Thank you! :)

Talking a lot has always been more effective than ignoring!

Just adding to the experiences.

Good luck! I hope you move em on out and get your dreamies soon!
