My mom tried animal crossing

Today I thought it would be fun if my mom who has never played a video game tried to walk around on my island and watch what she does. What happened was way too funny to keep to myself. (Hope this is the right place for this).

First thing she did was ask “why is it raining” and my response was “it does that” and my mom responded “just like real life” very seriously before running to the museum. The entire thing was normal with her exploring until she discovered the fish. She instantly ran up to it and started yelling “TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP” for some reason. She did this every time she saw a new fish until we left. Then we went to Resident Services where she was very confused as to why Tom Nook was staring at a picture of himself. The visits to the stores were normal aside from my mom occasionally saying “ok boomer” repeatedly when she noticed boomer in the store. Finally since my mom loves fashion I decided to let her make an outfit using my items. I have no idea what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this.

My mom plays new horizons!! She's been playing for nearly two months now. The funny thing is, her least favorite part of the game is the villagers. She thinks they are stalking her all the time

That's so cute! When I let my mom play she just started to pick up all my decorations outside.
She would walk up to something and say "can I pick this up?"
She even wanted to pick up the BIG rocks on the beach that you can not pick up.

The funniest thing my mom has done recently is going from constantly referring to the horse mackerels she catches as “holy mackerels”, to now just calling them “holy molys”

my mom likes to watch me play animal crossing but whenever I try to hand her the controller she refuses, but then she'll "back seat drive" the whole time I'm playing lmao. but in her defense she has never played a video game, and probably doesn't even know how to begin controlling my character

I did have my roommate (who never plays video games) make a villager on my island, and she sometimes comes to knock on my door and ask if she can play. It's very cute XD

Oh that's amazing!!
After watching my sister and I play, my mom got a switch and my parents share an island. We're all obsessed–she's logged over 200 hours and my dad's played for 50. Their island is way prettier than mine. It does get a little confusing when I can't figure out which mom is sending me mail. Video game parents are the best!

Lol there was a time when I got my entire family addicted to City Folk (including my mom- who is not a gamer in the least). It got so bad that my mom had to give up animal crossing for Lent
