My controller is having a really bad day

I've only had my switch since Jan. but ive been having issues for a while now. I am using the blue/red joy cons with the joy con holder that comes with the switch. Normally its just slo mo walking and sometimes when i hit rocks my toon will just tirn and dig a hole. Today it's so much worse. The slo mo walking is way worse. At one point the controller just jammed up and started vibrating like crazy and then it lost connection. And it took a long time to get it to connect again. Then I tried to sell some stuff and every time i tried to click on an item the cursor would jump to another slot in the inventory(it has never taken me so long to sell stuff). It's so frustrating! Does anyone know how to fix this?
update-i updated and calibrated the joy cons and now im having problems with all the buttons, even the home button. like i try to pick a tool from the tool ring and the menu just closes or when im trying to donate something to blathers it wont let me. i dont get it

There are youtube videos on how to fix this. It is very frustrating, I deal with it every time I use handheld.

youtube isn't helping. those videos are all about joycon drift and my big issues right now are the buttons

Its possible that moisture managed to get inside your Joy Cons, which are causing them to malfunction. Unfortunately, I have no clue how you would fix that.

But the main issue is it appears you're suffering from "Joy Con Drift", which is a very nasty issue many experience after a while.

The joycons are super awful. They start drifting after like 6 months. I’ve never heard of your exact problem, but what I would suggest is getting new joy cons, or a Nintendo pro controller
