Good evening and welcome to our new mini-event, Mushroom Season, running until October 7th. Like our flower-breeding event, you can participate by displaying collectibles in your lineup each day. However, Mushroom Season is not about breeding, but foraging and identifying instead! Since this is a brand-new event, it's also very experimental, which means we may make changes as it progresses, so please bear with us while we go on this mushroom hunt together. If you turn out to be a successful forager and identifier, we have several mushroom-themed collectibles you can end up with!
Available Permanent Collectibles
Before we learn how to forage and identify, let's first see what collectibles you'll be able to keep! Since this event is so experimental, their prices (in Sautéed Mushrooms) will not be announced until October 2nd.
This is how you can earn some for yourself!
Forage
Every day you'll earn Spore currency from doing regular things around the forum such as posting. You can then spend it on any of the many Foraged Mushrooms in the shop. Some of these mushrooms are beneficial, while others are unfortunately very poisonous and deadly. Their true identities are unknown. As you can see, there are quite a lot of mushrooms waiting to be foraged, but they won't stay in your inventory for very long.
Once you've purchased foraged mushrooms for the day, display them in your lineup (the 10 collectibles visible on your profile when you post).
Identify
Every night, around 9:00 PM EDT, your spores will reset to 0 and all of the foraged mushrooms in your lineup will change to one of two possibilities:
- If even just one mushroom in your lineup is poisonous, you will get very sick for the day and every foraged mushrooms in your lineup will turn into the useless Unfortunate Mushroom.
- If there are no poisonous mushrooms in your lineup, they will turn into the Fortunate Mushroom.
Twice during the event, the foraged mushrooms in the shop will be completely reset and we'll have to identify a new set from the beginning! Sunday, September 29th at 9:00 PM EDT and Thursday, October 3rd at 9:00 PM EDT.
Buy
Once you're lucky enough to get some Fortunate Mushrooms, they can be sold by clicking "sellback" in your inventory and they'll be converted into the Sautéed Mushroom currency, which is what you use to buy the permanent collectibles that you get to keep.
In summary, earn Spore currency -> buy Foraged Mushrooms from the shop -> if none are poisonous they turn into Fortunate Mushrooms -> sell back through your inventory for Sautéed Mushroom currency -> buy whatever collectibles you'd like!
