Mayor in AC Switch: Yes or No?

I feel like removing the status of Mayor could possibly remove the benefits of being Mayor, which is primarily having partial control of town customization, and I don't want to lose that and think it would be a step backwards from how far the series has become.

I do think however, you should be able to work other jobs if you want, such as maybe work for Nook Homes (if its a thing) and design houses for villagers moving in, or even extend it to the shops, so it feels more personable. There could be a set of things required that have to be there but the rest is up to you to decide.

Yes and no. I loved being the mayor, but I sort of miss being a normal villager and seeing Tortimer once in awhile, especially on event days. I'm not sure if I would be sad or happy if we aren't the mayor anymore. :/

I like it but at the same time I'd probably prefer the option to have a choice.

I don’t want to be mayor in the Switch game; I’d rather just be a normal villager, and have Isabelle (or even better, Tortimer) as the mayor. To keep the level of town customization from NL though, maybe you could give "suggestions" to the mayor about PWPs or ordinances you'd like to see happen (which they would always accept and ask you where you'd want the PWP to be placed), kind of like how in NL villagers will suggest PWPs to you that they want built, so you'd still have that power but be an ordinary citizen at the same time.

i say give the player a choice, maybe the town could hold elections and you could run for Mayor if you wanted it.

It depends. Being Mayor is fun, so it would be a nice option to have. But I would also love to see more jobs included into Animal Crossing Switch~ Interior Designing, or working for Nook/Able Sisters and such.

I would love to see something new done with the role, like maybe the player and Isabelle could switch places? She becomes the mayor and you could work part-time as her assistant or have a town-planning role. I mean she basically does everything anyways '^^

For instance, no control over where villagers plop their houses, when and where we can build public works. If I?m the mayor why don?t I have more control over my town, instead Isabelle seems to have more power than the mayor.

Although I voted yes, I wouldn't be unhappy if in ac switch you weren't the mayor, as long as you weren't a citizen either. Something completely new would be nice!
