Lightning bug or firefly?

Random question, but do you call them lightning bugs or fireflies? I call them fireflies because it just rolls off the tongue easier.

aw. I've used lighting bug ever since I was a little girl because we would visit my grandma and grandpa in tennessee and they always watched me catch them outside and called them lighting bugs in their cute southern accents so I followed that and still do to this day and I'm 20 now.
