This question is for everyone who wears makeup and/or does their nails.

I like painting my nails. It feels and looks good, and encourages me to gesture more lol. I do wear powder occasionally, as well as lip gloss, and I rarely wear eyeshadow— only for special occasions. The palette I have is the Let’s Play mini-palette by Too Faced, and I think it has fun, bright colors.

Anyway, I own a lot more nail polish than makeup. (I also have a lot of perfume, but that’s another story.) I guess I like doing nails more than makeup.

But what do you prefer— doing makeup, nails, or both? What fits your style, and what works best for your everyday life?

For the past year or so I’ve gotten my nails done regularly, since I found a nail tech I absolutely luuuvvv. I don’t wear makeup really other than lashes/eyebrows/concealer. I definitely spend more money on nails since I tend to go for fun designs and extensions lol

If I had to choose between the two though, I would say makeup. I feel bald without lashes on lmao so I never leave the house without. Nails are just a fun lil extra thing I treat myself to since I don’t work in physical labor anymore and don’t have the risk of breaking them lol

I thought this meant by other ppl so I chose nails (I've never had someone do my make up well !! always too cakey!)

I always have my nails done but I do find it rly hard to leave the house without a littttttle bit of make up at least so I choose both lol

I've never liked makeup (the process of having it done, or how it looks on me), but I do enjoy getting my nails done once in awhile! I love colourful things in general so having my nails done in bright/vibrant colours fits my vibe.

I very rarely paint my nails but when I do I really like how they look. I would like to do it more often but I'm just too lazy and I like my nails short.

As for makeup I don't even have proper cosmetics, I only use powder. I've had professional makeup done twice in my life and I was amazed by how pretty I looked. Pure magic. I kind of wish I had the skills (and tools) to do that myself but again: I'm too lazy. And cleaning it all off was a pain 🫠

For the most part, neither. I don't wear makeup at all on an average day, though I'll use a light amount if going out to a special place or event. I keep my nails short and filed because long nails get too much in the way of gaming and typing. Haven't worn nail polish in years at this point.

I really enjoy painting my nails, it’s such a fun way to express myself but working in a warehouse means they’re constantly chipping or breaking, which can be frustrating. That’s why I lean more into makeup! It makes me feel beautiful and confident, and I genuinely love the ritual of putting it on. My go-to look usually includes a light skin tint, a pop of blush, lip gloss, fake lashes, and a glowing highlighter to tie it all together!

I’d do both for drag performances but I can’t paint my nails and there are no easy ways to wear fake nails without having to use glue and then nail polish remover to dissolve said glue which in turn ruins natural nails and I want to be able to wear the fake nails more than once.

Neither. I don't like the feeling of make up and my hands are not pretty enough for nail art but I like buying nail polish for others and see how creative ppl can be with their nails.

Oh, I love both! I love having my nails done, right now I’m letting my nails heal and breathe but I can’t wait to get a full set done again I miss having them! I also love makeup and skincare. I will say I go lighter on the makeup now and it’s basically concealer, blush, lil highlight, and mascara. I just can’t imagine doing full face or full glam every day. I’m way too lazy and apathetic for that lol

I’m sure your hands are lovely! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, anyway.

i really want to do both as i vastly prefer the way i look with makeup on (and long nails) but life circumstances have made it bordering on impossible for me to do either. my hands shake too bad to do my eyeliner anymore, i've grown to hate the way makeup makes my face feel, long nails give me sensory issues, blah blah blah. but one day i really hope to overcome all of that and be one of those girls that always looks super pretty and put together!! i haven't even come close to that since my early 20s lmao.

i'm trying to meet myself in the middle and just paint my natural nails if nothing else, that way i can still keep them short, but even that i have trouble motivating myself to do ;-;

I like make up more. I wear it everyday and I have my simple version for travel, grocery/convenience store runs, whatever whatever and then there's the colorful, fun/vampy looks I like to wear daily. I love eyeshadow especially like multi-chromes or more swampy/earthy colors (greens, yellows and oranges). I also enjoy wearing lipstick, especially matte lipsticks and I go for a lot of browns and vampy muted colors.

Nails are really fun but no matter much I do all the steps of base coats to top coats, they always chip so fast. Not a fan of gel or acrylic nails even though they look amazing. I wear contacts and that would not work out for me. I did get some cute adhesive acrylic nails but I feel nervous because (contacts wearer) and if I'm gonna struggle to get them off. I did see the instructions was to dip it into soapy warm water but I'm scared, haha. I might wear my glasses when wearing them for the first time.

Nah, I have big, veiny, manly hands (same as my father in fact) with small rond nails, with nail polish it looks like frog hands. In my eyes it's not pretty at all and distracting lol. Those hands are good for opening jars  and stuff like that.

Speaking of sensory stuff, that is EXACTLY why I stopped wearing mascara omg. I thought it was pretty, but I hated the way it flaked off. I also refuse to curl my lashes (that tool scares me), or glue on lashes. Like I said, I like eyeshadow, but lash and liner stuff makes me want to reach for nearest wet wipe!
