I'm tempted to buy it just to read it because I know any of the information it has I can find online but I can't seem to find it under $100.

If anybody has it is it a fun read or should I just delete it from my Amazon list?

Why would you pay 100 for it when the real worth of it is around 20-25 ? It's a cute collectors item but not worth 100 dollars or close to it.

The real worth is whatever someone is willing to pay for it, so if it's selling for $100 and people are buying for $100, it's worth $100. That said, it was literally outdated the moment it came out, and given the mass appeal of the game, all of its info is freely available online on various sites and resources, such as this forum. So I can't say I recommend being one of the people paying 4X the original price for it

Yeaaahhh.... I say no. I mean there is many guides and tutorials on YouTube that explain how to get started in New Horizons so I would not get it if its at that high of a price.

I have it. $100 is ridiculously overpriced.

It's a fun thing to look through, and there's some interesting things like weather schedules, TV programs, villager houses, and Happy Home mechanics, but a lot of the guide is either outdated (nothing beyond launch is included) or just wrong (the flower breeding mechanics seem to be completely at odds with every other guide I've ever seen).

I'd get it just for fun if you find a cheap copy, but it's not worth $100 as a guide.

As someone who has it, I don't think so.

If you want to collect it just because it's Animal Crossing, sure.

If you're buying it for information, you're better off using one the free wikis.

$100 is incredibly overpriced. As many others here I bought it for £25. Its really cute and the book itself is actually really big, the illustrations are nice. But truth be told, I haven’t looked at it since last year but I really wanted to collect it anyway. It’s outdated but that was to be expected, its just a good reference for all the base game items and variations. Plus handy for the bugs and fish.

I would recommend to wait till you find one for a decent price. This is definitely overpriced and not worth the money at all, regardless of whether for actual use or just as a collectible, especially since it's outdated already.

I've bought the companion books in the past to help me keep track of my collections, but with smartphones and the apps they make as companions now, I wouldn't waste the money. When the game first came out, the book was $20-$25 new, but I've been using an app called ACNH Life pretty much since the game launched and it's been super helpful. I appreciate it so much that I didn't even mind paying/donating $5 to make it ad free.

Yes and no. I got mine for £30 from Amazon when it was released. It’s okey. It does have a lot missing. And I mean basically everything that was added in through updates; Redd, art, museum upgrade, Lief, bushes, diving, sea critters, events and holidays etc

Its an interesting book to flick through and definitely a good gift for a die hard fan. But I wouldn’t say that its worth any more than like £20

for $100? hell no. especially since from what i’ve seen, the guide itself is incredibly outdated by now and the publishers haven’t stuck to their plan of sending out free information updates to everyone who bought a copy after nintendo launches a new update. 😕

In the past I collected nearly every Pokemon game guide because I loved the franchise and collecting books. I still have a lot of them. I also have the Sims 3 box set of guides. They're nice to look at now and then but I wouldn't drop $100 on any guide though cause that's a bit out of my league. To each their own.

I got it for like $20 something from the preorders back when it came out. It’s worth that pretty much. I say absolutely do not pay $100 for it.
