Is it possible to import HHD Data with just both physical copies?

I'm trying to import HHD Data with both being physical copies. Is it possible to do this? If so, how do we do this?

I only have physical copies of ACNL and ACHHD. That's why I am asking, even if I am an expert in Animal Crossing.

I had both digital, but every step of the process has Isabelle asking if you have physical or digital. I think there might be a way to do it even if both are physical. Your best way to figure it out is to just try it?

Yeah you can, you'll of course have to take out your ACNL cartridge and put in your HHD one when the game asks you too, after it reads your HHD data, you put ACNL back in your system. I assume your worry is that the game will stop running but it actually won't, I got my HHD items the same way so you'll be okay.

You can, Isabelle will tell you to take out your AC:NL cartridge in replace of the HHD one. (Your game will not say the game card has been removed, because you are doing something the game is intending you to do.) And just let it do its work.

you have to choose it in the main menu and isabelle will walk you through it and yes you can connect your HHD with however copies you have
